Notre Dame the first 0-2 team to be ranked in 37 years

It actually has happened before, 0-2 Michigan was ranked #19 after dropping their first two games in 1988.

They started preseason #10 and their losses were extremely close ones to legit teams, @ #13 Notre Dame and to #1 Miami.

Keeping them ranked proved accurate as those would be the only two games Michigan would lose, finishing 9-2-1 and overall #4.

I think it’s silly to leave them ranked at this point but I also think that they are probably one the 25 best teams in the nation.

That's probably because it's really rare for teams to play two top opponents the first two games.

99.9% of the LSU fans on this site would melt the frick down if they were completely dropped from the top 25 after starting #6 and losing their first two game to teams ranked in the top 10 by all of 4 total points.

yeah they played very competitive against two really good teams. could have won both
