Football Coaches were getting paid off players tuition and most players were low income and couldnt afford the tuition so coaches didnt get paid and program dissolved.

This school is such a scam and it's sad to see kids and their parents fall for it.

Like this basketball recruit. How can even a kid be so delusional.

The fan base around it is good,” Petty-Johnson said. “The coaches there are nice. The environment is great. It all made me want to make my final decision to go to John Melvin.”

Wut?

Most of these are just kids who are looking to put off welding school or working in the oilfield off for a few more months.

Family friends grandson plays for the baseball team there. He was a travel ball kid and the only offer he got was to JMU. Fully expect him to be working at the refinery with his dad within 2 years.

There is no formal announcement of them canceling football anywhere to be found.

Going straight to the refinery would be a better decision.
