Posting again cause buried:

quote:

Relevant story from the casino yesterday. I chopped a pot with a guy on a straight I had 10-10 and my opponent had A-10 and we chopped with four to a straight on the board. He asked the dealer why he didn't win the whole pot because he had the better kicker. I shite you not. In a live game, with around $175 in the pot, he didn't know how straights work.

Dude, this guy was at least 50 years old though. He had no business being in a live game. He practically gave away his money in about 20 minutes. He was acting out of turn and all sorts of stuff.

I tried on that hand and called me all the way down. All under cards to my 10s and it went runner runner for the straight.

I made about $10 from the two other preflop callers. :/

thought I was going to make $600 off the casino last night... barely missed hitting a straight flush to trigger a special they were having last night... was playing for it as I watched it develop

then was informed that I would've missed t b/c I didn't play both of my hole cards (had black 5s)

ended up winning the hand with a flush

Yeah, that's usually the catch. It sucks. Same with the bad beat with quads, you have to have two in your hand.

Nope, but he put himself in this situation by being way too passive.
