That 3-2 pitch to Sanchez. Full
count with bases loaded with and a free swinging slugger with one out. You are risking that he gets too emotional and swings at garbage over kiliing a mistake to win the game right? Even with the risk that he holds up and walks a run in?

I think you go with a high fastball there.

He had already spit on two breaking balls in the dirt.

Yeah he probably would foul it off if anything.

Breaking ball in the dirt wouldn't be the worst just because Torres is so terrible on deck.

I can't lie.

I couldn't disagree with how you see that situation more than I do.

What are you throwing there? I think kimbrel threw a change up that was maybe just below the belt

Are you throwing your best pitch that you know can get him out or are you going for the double play?

You love odds. And for good reason.

A FB down the dick to Sanchez most likely gets the out.

I don't think the pitch he shite on was ideal. It was a bit of a mistake.

But a walk to make it a 1 run game(right?) with 2 opportunities to tie it is much more concerning to me than challenging Sanchez(which I don't think was fully intended).

What are you throwing there? I think kimbrel threw a change up that ended up maybe just below the belt but it looked like they wanted it more at the knees

Are you throwing your best pitch that you know can get him out or are you going for the double play?

Can't really go for a double play with Sanchez there. He isn't about to roll over something or take a swing that would even come close to resulting in a ground ball.

I'd try to throw him a strike for sure, though.

Doesn't a sure fire ball result in bases loaded, 1 out, up only 1?

So you're throwing TWO guys pitches in the zone for 2 full at bats?

which makes sense as to why you wouldnt want that

but man. i would just be too worried about missing and giving him something too good to hit over doing the same with torres and mccutchen

and i guess i just dont have enough faith in sanchez being able to hold up there

0-0, I completely agree with you with Sanchez.

But once we're 3-2, the pros of throwing my best strike are going to outweigh the pros of a chase/walk and then the Yankees having TWO batters knowing they'll see strikes all at bat.

I trust Sanchez fricking up 3-2 more than i trust myself to keep the next 2 batters from evening the score. And those 2 batter would have MULTIPLE ways to tie the score if I walk Sanchez.

Good to see the Sox take the series. It'll be a Boston vs. LA World Series
