And I just lost my fricking mind to the Smashing Pumpkins while smoking a seegar. Who wants that honey.

I think the Lakers can beat OKC, but it won't be easy. The key is to have Pau and D12 working hard on both ends, and to have Nash back and running the offense with Pau and Howard. With Kobe out, when Nash comes back he'll get to actually do work, and I think that he can use his weapons to really score on OKC and bang them down low to tire them out. The problem is defensively, Westbrick and KD can take advantage of poor transition defense, and then it's all out the door. They have to snag boards too, like they did tonight. It'd be tough, and they couldn't do it in any less than 6, but maybe they can find a stroke of luck.

LA would be swept by OKC. It would be a massacre.

Dwight/Pau combo is still legit as hell. The lakers have problems but getting rid of those guys isn't the answer. I wouldn't be suprised if having kobe sit the bench and having a young guy like jodie meeks hit some 3's and stay out of the way is nearly a wash. The lakers perimeter d against Golden state was unimaginably bad. Curry and Thompson had a field day. You just can't have a 1-2-3 of blake/nash-kobe-ronron. Blake is an old, slow, pussy. Kobe takes off on defense unless someone challenges him on an iso. Ron's got the attitude but not the body anymore. Lakers need to pay up for Dwight and Pau and pretty much start over after that.

It's all good. Lakers going after "The King" in 2014. Howard isn't leaving, so they're going to try to break the bank for him, if possible. Not sure if Kobe will hang it up at age 35 like he said.

quote:If kobe wanted to retire after next year then he should be done now. He has every intention of playing till almost 40. I just hope he can come to terms with a shitty contract and a 25 minutes a game type of situation. If not it could get awkward for the lakers. They simply can't let him be the centerpiece of their franchise one more day. That officially ended with the injury. He's gotta come back as Robin if he wants to come back. The lebron thing has legs IMO. Unless he just refuses to play with kobe. The heat will have about exhausted their run at the end of next season.

The good news is that the Jazz play first on Wednesday.
