by the way yall talk about it i would expect spontaneous ejaculation...
i mean, we went to the game. we walked around. what do you want me to do? go into the homes and talk to the locals? we saw BP from waveland. we walked with the crowd to the front gates. we hung out by the players parking lot after the game...
and FYI, i wanted to sit in the bleachers but was vetoed

You're comparing playoff baseball to regular season college football?
No, I'm actually comparing playoff college football to this. If LSU was in a playoff game and getting their arse kicked in the 4th quarter, there'd be 20K in the seats.
Besides, regular season college football is playoff football anyway.

Look, regardless of what happens in this series (the Cubs losing probably), the Cubs have finally figured out how to win. MONEY!!! They are in the NL Central with a bunch of small market teams. Wrigley Field is an ATM, and with a new owner like Mark Cuban look for the Cubs to win the Central multiple times like the Braves and the Yankees did in the 90's and early 00's. The problem for the Cubs will be to win in the playoffs once they get there. The Braves only won the WS once even though they went to the playoffs every year.
The Cubs have made the playoffs 2 years in a row for the first time since 1908. That is a pretty big accomplishment for this woeful franchise. Since 1945 the Cubs have only had playoff appearances in 1984, 1989, 1998, 2003, 2007, and 2008. That is only 6 chances in 100 years to win the World Series. 94 years out of 100 they didn't even have a chance to break the streak.
I am not a rah rah type of guy, and it is quite evident that this 2008 version is full of chokers, but I believe this team will make the playoffs on a consistent basis and eventually break through.

just looked. Don't talk shite bout a game you didn't watch. Big Z was on. It was the fricking defense that let him down. It was unbelievable.

FWIW I do think they need to put Atlanta in the Central and Pittsburgh in the East.

They were actually in the World Series 7 times (I think) between 1908 and 1945. But, I do get your point. If ownership is willing to spend, the Cubs will compete, no doubt.

Can we get a laughing thread at the loser dressed up as a Fukudome fan crying on national tv?

I'll back up Mikey on that one. They looked like a pee wee league team. Can't make excuses for the bats though.
