LOL!

I was at Game 4 when you guys took the 3-1 series lead... remember driving home and talking about how the whole team needed to be dismantled and started over.

Then Courtnall game 5, Linden game 6, and then... well you remember 'the pass':

I don't remember too much of that series, but I do remember the Bure going in on the breakaway to win the series.

For people new to hockey... find a video of Game 7 of that series. I'm still bitter about The Save, which is legitimately the greatest save I have ever seen in a game I was actually watching. A save so great that the goal judge actualyl signalled a goal because it was so impossible.

honestly, it was a better play thn the "pass", which I can't rationally talk about. That puck had eyes.

It was Otto. Ugliest goal ever. Or are we talking about a different ugly goal?

The old Smythe Division has some bitter, bitter rivalries. The Oilers were great, the Flames were always the bridesmaid, and the Canucks were (are?) just cursed. And who cares about the Jets and Kings?

I find myself always rooting for the big three of the Smythe, just for the memories. And I love the Canucks unis now, which remind me so much of the Whale.

You got it. Fleury to Reichel. McLean made an ubelievably great save in a huge situation. That should have ended the series.

I thought Linden was the captain, though...

I figure 1994 is karmic payback for 1989. Joel Otto is my favorite player ever - he is the only man who could shut down Mark Messier.

That's a defensive forward. Shut down the other guy's best guy and then go out and score 20 goals a season yourself. I hate specialists.

And now we've got six divisions so we can't even mentally call the divisions by their correct names. The divisional playoff format lead to so much healthy hatred. 1994, strangely enough, was the first year without the divisional playoffs, and the Flames-Canucks would've been a second round series by the old rules. Oh well.

There was something cool about the Canadiens eliminating the Bruins seemingly every year.

But not in 1986 or 2004.

Still, I rooted for the Nucks, espeically once the Rangers traded Mike Gartner at the deadline. That was mean. He deserved a Cup.
