Caps win, simply put you can't have as many shots as they've had and not eventually get a payout...I think detroit gets their shite together and somehow squeaks out a 3-2 win in Phoenix...the Hockey gods have punished them enough for their hubris....

Anybody else think the Canucks have a shot at taking the West? I'm homerish in that pick anyway, but if Burrows can get out of his slump (maybe the empty-netter helped?), I think they have what it takes. I thought Detroit was the hottest team coming in, and if Phoenix can get it done, then they are obviously out.

I figure it's also between those two, at least now. Beforehand I thought Detroit was headed in the right direction for a third straight West Title. Regardless of the outcome of that series...I think no.

I know the economy is rough up in the D, duh...but the empty seats are prime season-ticket holder location. It's hard for me to believe that they are not even sold.

This has the makings of an epic game. There's not much better than a game 7 in the NHL playoffs (as long as the Pens aren't involved, too stressful).

Yep, dominant period for Detroit, but nothing to show for it so far. It'll be interesting to see what adjustments Phoenix makes. Detroit will find the net if they continue to get this many chances.

Detroit is firmly in control now. Not surprising that Datsyuk has done the damage. Phoenix has to get a break soon or this one is going to be done.
