Yep, Doan is out tonight and that doesn't help, but they did a good job of creating offense in the last game after he went out. It looks like Hejduk is out for the Avs as well. I'm wondering if Luongo's hand is ok after last night. He didn't play well at all after that and he had been doing a pretty good job in the series up to that point.

again look for Canadian Olympic team members to underperform as they are very self satisfied at this point. Happened after Salt Lake City too...

surprise, those 2 fade in the playoffs. Semin's point totals in the playoffs in very misleading he has maybe 1 or 2 good games

Sem will get it together man. He had a fricked up hand in the Pens series last year but he was money in the Rangers and Flyers series. He'll go on a tear eventually. Green on the other hand...

Semin shows up for a game, but then fades away. When everything is on the line he is no were to be found.

1 career point in 3 game 7's

Ovechkin only has 3 in 3 career game 7's. He had 2 points against the Flyers in a loss and 1 meaningless goal against the Penguins last year.

Sem had a goal in the NYR game 7.

I'd say they are fairly even. Ovechkin showed up in one game and so did Sem. Nobody showed up in the Pens game.

IMO, Backstrom is the best Caps player. I don't worry nearly as much about Ovie as I do him. But that goes back to my assertion that centers/goaltenders are the most important players in big games. You've got to dominate the middle of the ice and the tempo to have any kind of playoff success.

We'll see when Sem wins us a game or two. And yes Backstrom is arguably the Caps best forward this year. He has been incredible.

Oh and Sidney Crosby is fricking scary this year. He is just on a completely different level than everyon else right now.

Speaking of which, Crosby puts Pens up 2-0. Malkin/Crosby with the first two goals. And Cooke just added another as I was typing this so it's 3-0. Pens are dominating.

Correct. The Sens have one of the best def. pairs in the league and they haven't had any answers for him. Malkin being healthy makes a huge difference because every team loads up against Sid's line and it leaves him with some favorable matchups. But Crosby is doing it all in this series, and I don't expect that to change as the games become even more important.

Wow, Sid just added another one. This game (and series) is all but over.

By the way I can't think of a better scenario than for the Caps to get the Bruins in the 2nd round and for the Pens to get the Devils.
