I’m gonna say this. The moment may have come where Tom Wilson is more a detriment to Washington’s fortunes. People that have no business fighting on his team fought last night-the cross check to the face of Mantha is tip of the iceberg shite. The league has shite all over its face because of they didn’t suspend Wilson or address the elephant in the room. The league has changed. I hate that it’s changed but it’s changed. Concussions, fighting, head shots there is liability to think of now.

If Wilson did some of the stuff he did w/in the confines of play it'd be one thing, but it's the extra shite that is the problem. The head-hunting & blows to the head after the play is over, the unnecessary goonery, etc. There is a time and place for goon play and he knows neither. When you have retired goons calling you out you know there is a problem.
What happened last night is on the NHL.

Pens are up on the Sabers 7-4. Jeff Carter, the deadline acquisition from the Kings, has 4 goals! Zucker, Dumolin, and Sid have the other 3.
Pens can wrap up home ice in the first round by sweeping the Sabres to end the season.

Just looked at the standings:
East:
The Pens win the division w/a regulation/OT win or OT loss.
The Bruins can still catch the Craps for 2nd, but they have to win in regulation and WSH has to lose in regulation. The Isles have 4th locked up.
Central:
Canes are division champs. Tampa and Florida are tied for 2nd. Nashville is bringing up a distant 4th.
West:
LV has the 1 seed. Denver and Minny are 1 point apart in 2nd and 3rd respectfully, and STL brings up a very distant 4th.
North:
Toronto and the fighting McDavids have 1 and 2 locked up in the Canuck division. Jets and the Habs are 2 points apart, but both are locked in, just a matter who's 3rd and 4th.

Pens beat Buffalo, 1-0. They are done w/their regular season. If the Craps lose one of their last 2 games, the Pens will win the East.
Mike Sullivan should be under serious consideration for the Jack Adams award. (COTY). What he has done this year w/over 200 games lost to injury is nothing short of amazing. Most people in league circles already knew Sullivan could coach, this season proves them right.
In all seriousness, Mike Sullivan is a hell of a hockey coach. Go Pens.

No, they have not clinched the division. If the Capitals win both of their remaining games in regulation, they will win the division.
ETA: It is stupid that regulation wins is the first tie-breaker and not head-to-head. Penguins were 6-2 against Caps this season.

I hate the mini playoff situation here. Whoever wins the West will have beaten maybe two of the top 5 teams in the league.
It’s just even more of what made the recent division playoff system worse. I know Canada situation basically forced it but still.

Reports that Torts is done in Columbus. Not surprising.
Appreciate what he did in his 6 years. Absolutely loved his attitude and overall demeanor. But the Jackets were not going to take the next step with his grinder approach.

mmmmh good question-my FIL asked me a question when I voiced my traditional disbelief in my beloved Loafs, “Show me a team with more scoring depth in the NHL?” Then he said defence is better this year, team is getting a bunch of guys back in time for the playoffs, have an easy schedule last week, home ice advantage first two rounds of the playoffs. I said “yeah I don’t think so.”
