About to go 8-11 in the playoffs. Started 5-1 and has went 3-10 since the Super Bowl lost to the Packers in 2010. Three playoff wins in 14 seasons. None since 2016.
These types of stats are always quoted without context. What’s the record of every other coach during the same period excluding Bill with Brady and Andy with Mahomes?
Harbaugh had missed the postseason 4 of 5 seasons after he won his Super Bowl and is only 3-5 with Lamar. Should he be fired?

Competent qb play changes everything. There are ample examples of that every season.
Sure it does. And Wilson isn’t the long term answer. But you could put prime Brady on this team and it wouldn’t have saved them. Flat out the receiving core is not good and what happened late in the game? Broderick Jones did his normal turnstile routine. Wilson looked decent in the second half once they opened up the playcalling, and nothing he did tonight could have improved the 24 total rushing yards they had on the night.
The Steelers compared to the leagues quality teams are a poorly coached, undisciplined group. And much like Tomlin’s games in the past they were unprepared.
Tomlin had a hall of fame level QB for a decade in his prime and only managed 3 playoff wins. Ben in his prime, would have had a similar result. Why? Because we’ve seen it so many times now.

Here’s a good one then. 28 different head coaches have won a playoff game since Tomlin’s last playoff win. DeMeco Ryan’s was still a player when Tomlin logged his last playoff win.

Chargers will always find a way to disappoint their fans.

Look out for the Broncos today.

40 something Brady took the previously 8-8 Bucs to a Super Bowl championship. I think the Steelers would have been better than 10-7 and a one and done playoff berth with Brady.

Is Tomlin the GM?

Quality teams, especially in the AFC, have elite qb play. With Alex Smith Andy was 1-3 in the playoffs at KC. Harbaugh missed the postseason 4 of 5 seasons before Lamar. How’s the Patriots been since Brady left? The Broncos last playoff win was a Super Bowl.

Not doing more with the Killer B’s ids definitely a blemish. But going 10-7 with Russell Wilson and making the playoffs isn’t. The biggest problem with the Steelers is they don’t have a qb but never suck enough to stockpile talent. So if the plan is to fire Tomlin so that you have a few 4-13 seasons to get better draft picks, ok. But you’re not getting better outcomes with the quality of qb play he has available.

Sounds like a lot of coaches have been fired since Tomlin last won a playoff game too. And most those seasons Steelers qb was Mason Rudolph, Kenny Pickett, Russ, or a washed Big Ben.

frick the Bills. Let’s go, Broncos!

Pittsburgh is always at least mediocre, therefore they never get in a solid draft spot to take a franchise QB like Big Ben was.

It has to be strange being a Steelers or Packers fan where you know you are going to the playoffs every year, but it's basically going nowhere. At least they get a title every 15 years, so it's not so bad.

Tomlin making those decisions? Did those qbs win more or less with the Steelers than they won at their next or prior team?

Brett Favre had just 4 postseason wins in his last 11 seasons. First ballot Hall of Famer, and only 1 more win than CFF over that time frame.

I took Bills, Eagles, Redskins...but yes I'm rooting for the underdogs as always.
