Nope.
Again, good luck.
Again, good luck.

I don't know what you have against me, but you've done nothing but come in here to troll the thread and attempt to get personal with me. If there is something I do here that you do not like, this board has awesome admins who will happily hear your case on the Help Board. I don't know who you are and am unfamiliar with you on this site. I am not interested in talking to you further, and I hope you will consider the following and not harass me further:
quote:
2. DO NOT “flame the board.” “Flaming” is the deliberate act of creating a post in order to incite members of the board and invoke a negative response.
quote:
4. DO NOT engage in personal attacks on other users. Healthy debate is expected and encouraged, but take the childish insults elsewhere. This is particularly true with regard to visitors from other schools. Moderators will be especially watchful for verbal abuse, ridicule, ad hominem attacks, and stalking.

So let me get this straight.
- You post an idiotic idea.
- Other posters put out their own ideas and you belittle them.
- You demand proof why their argument is better than yours and if they can't you proclaim "Your idea is better."
- Someone (meaning me) asks you to prove why your argument is better and you call them a troll.
- Someone (me again) calls you out on being an all around shite poster whose ultimate goal is apparently geared towards making others feel bad and you want to seek protection from the rules of the board while admitting that you are a huge bitch.
Sound about right snowflake?

Please stop. What you're doing doesn't belong here and is a blatant violation of multiple TD Commandments. This is a great site no thanks to your contributions to this thread. It really would be best if you would stop reading and responding to my posts altogether. Thanks. Geaux Tigers.

The anti-sudden-death rhetoric is mostly "A coin toss shouldn't decide the game," so I took the coin toss out of overtime.
but you didn't get rid of it. you just moved it.
the toss of a coin still determined who got the ball first.

The patriots did not cross the goal the first half.
My guess is that few teams scored a td on first drive on ot in The two years the new rule in place.
The team b with ball 2nd could be in good field position if their d holds up.
I am ok with new current rule.
Did not like team A fg wins, prev rule.
Get back to us after next time ot happens in super bowl.
I bet game is decided otherwise than opening drive td.
Some of this
2nd team B fg with no score by team A.
D int
Ko return team A.
Punt return team b.
Ko return by team b after team a fg.
First team fg with no fg by 2nd team.
a and b both td and team b goes for 2.
A scores td. Extra point block return. Team b scores td, wins.
Safety against team b after punt to the 2.
Safety against team a on snap to team a punter.
Strip and scoop.
You get one or two of these the next decade no one will whine that their team lost unfairly.

ballscaster is like the smartest 4th grader in the class.
Sure, he's smart. But he's so full of himself and honestly immature that he's impossible to even have a conversation with.
ETA: He probably thinks that you're the reason his thread got anchored, when everyone knows it's because of him.

...which makes it a mathematically good idea. The coin's influence has been labeled a problem by many, so I've diminished the mathematical influence of the coin.
Haven't I?

So coin determines who gets ball, but in your head in doesn't.
Makes sense

quote:Not the case. The coin ultimately decides possession like it does now but yields less of an advantage one way or another, according to simple math. Is my math wrong? and/or does this create any new problems that I'm not seeing?

So this pass Sunday there was a 50% chance patriots wouldn't of got the ball in OT
But according to your theory. There would of been a 100% chance patriots would of got the ball.
Sounds fair to me...
Posted on 2/8/17 at 9:25 am to CajunsTigersSaints
Nah. 50%, since it's still ultimately determined by the coin.

If the game is tied after 60 minutes, the two captains meet again, and now Team B gets to choose from the same options.
Sudden death.
So what's the problem with this? After all, we know from the start of the game who will get the ball in a hypothetical overtime, so now both teams can play the game with that in mind. Maybe you go for 2 instead of kick that PAT at the gun knowing that you're going to have to kick off to Brady in overtime.
So basically, you want to lose the toss to start the game (because in your scenario Team A gets the ball once, and Team B is guaranteed to get the ball at least once, definitely twice if it goes to OT). Terrible idea.

No. All you did was make the initial toss more important, since you're guaranteeing one team the ball twice in an OT situation. Again, terrible idea.

it has literally the exact same influence.
the toss of a coin determines:
who get the ball first, and what direction the teams face.
whether you toss the coin before the OT starts, before the game starts, or the first thursday of the third moth that ends in Y.
it's still a coin toss. and it still determines the exact same thing.
"when" then coin gets tossed into the air is not the issue and never has been.
"that" a coin has been tossed into the air is the complaint people have.
