There’s upside here — with more playing time in BUF. Size/play-strength. Can align as a 1/3/5 technique. Lateral quicks. Upper-body power. Interior pass rush ability.

Only $28M guaranteed on 5yrs actually is not a bad contract. I'm still surprised Dallas stuck with him this whole time though.

Yeah I’m no cap expert but it seems like they got pretty good value in guarantees with the Lawrence and Gregory deals imo

Quiet 24 hours so far. Most teams get it at this point apparently. Only one or two are going balls deep and overpaying for mediocrity. Nobody else is taking the bait. A couple of teams are fixing their one or two holes. Everybody else is signing their own players and waiting.

The Falcons have emerged as a sleeper team to acquire Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson, league sources tell @mortreport and me. The Falcons join the Panthers, Saints and Browns as teams that have met with, or are interested in, trading for Watson. More to come on ESPN.

Guard James Daniels is closing in on a deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers, per source. Daniels, a four-year starter in Chicago, is just 24 years old and can play multiple spots on the line.

Steelers got Trubisky on a 2 year/$14 million deal, and now potentially have signed 3 OL in FA.

I like it.

EDIT: Confirmed. Big signing.

Increased (fake) demand drives up the prices. And the Falcons may be the only team with worse active WRs than the Saints if they don't bring Gage back.

Browns released C JC Tretter. He’s one of the best centers in the league.

Bengals, grab him and Collins. Please. Let’s round out this OL and go from bottom 5 unit of the league to top 10

I mean Watson could end that fake demand instantly by leaking that he doesn’t want to go to the Falcons, like he did to the Seahawks already. It’s not really in his best interest to have his future team leveraged for more assets given up

Apparently he’s close with Arthur blank so maybe there’s something to it.

My guess would be that if this happened the Falcons would restructure/extend Matt Ryan’s deal and trade him to a new team to make the deal work (Indy?)

Lawrence basically cleared up the money to bring Gregory back with his new deal.

In other good Cowboys news, Connor Williams is off to Miami

That James Daniels signing is fantastic. Under 10 per year is a heist. That guy is a mauler in the run game too.

shite. The Steelers may go defense in round 1 now.

Deshaun also played his high school ball 15 mins.from the Falcons complex. Same county.

You can have him. He is good...but he is not this great C everyone believes he is. He is an average pass blocker and gets run over at times. Plus, he is the head of the NFLPA and that was a HUGE wedge in the locker room last year.

He’s still grossly overpaid but the actual contract is more like 17-18 mil a year than 21 mil a year once you take out the dummy years and salary that he’ll never see

Comes down to essentially a 2 year deal for 37 mil

But again, still wildly overpaid to what he’ll likely bring to the table
