They had someone warming up when he was hit in the foot. You go out and "check on the injury." You have him put on a little show of jogging around and bouncing on it to make sure it's okay. You walk back to the dug out, then come back out, wait for the ump to say "okay do something" and you change pitchers. Wouldn't be the first to do that, nor the last. It's common.
You don't leave in a pitcher with no movement that's missing his zones, after he let the bases get loaded without retiring anyone. Something was amiss in his pitches or mechanics and they were keying enough to send them right back at him.
The coach screwed any chance his team had by not pulling the kid as he let it slip away.

but if he brings in a pitcher and he walks the guy..everyone jumps on him not letting the other guy try to work through it. If that pitch got past it was going to be 0-2...yeah the 4 pitch walk was rough..but he calmed back down and got ball overp late..guy just put a bat on it
