i just dont think the conference tournaments worked out in their favor.. i hope they get in, as well as SELA, but i think both are out.

The Cajuns built up an impressive road RPI of 42 and a non-conference RPI of 44 and went 3-4 against RPI top 50 (while playing in the #6 conference). A team like Florida Gulf Coast had a non-conference RPI of 80, played in the #17 conference, and went 1-6 vs the RPI top 50.

I think locking up a first place finish in the #6 conference holds more weight than being the 8th team in from the PAC-10 (Arizona), who had a complete disaster to finish the season.

They're less of a lock than they were when I said that, but you can't make a reasonable case for other fringe teams over the Cajuns.

ETA -- the only website which has us out is ESPN and they were inconsistent in their reasoning for their selections. SEBaseball, Rivals, Collegebaseballblog, Baseball America, PING, all have us in.

I will be here, the NCAA would screw up if they didn't have us in though.

Yeah...i'll be really shocked if The Cajuns don't get in...looking at it...it's hard to make an argument that they shouldn't be..and they may not win a game..but they'll be a scary team in a Regional if only because of their great pitching

If you compare the resumes of the fringe teams, having the Cajuns on the outside would be wrong. A team like Arizona played one non-conference road game all year.

Neither are that impressive when you consider that an RPI of 43 is pretty much the cut-off for an at-large bid. (There are 21 auto-bids with RPI's below 50)
ULaLa = bubble.

It is when other teams fighting for a spot has a non-conference RPI at 80.

it is not a great sign when you have to keep b ringing up non conference RPI ... It pretty much means nothing ...

I said last week they were out ... I also said that LSU would host .. I was incorrect maybe I am also wrong about ULL but very rarely I am ever not right so for me to miss on both of these predictions in one thread would be an epic fail

the NCAA site is showing half of the bracket and has Elon in.. that takes 1 potential spot for ULL..

It was an epic fail .. Just amazing to me that they got in... I know that they tied for the regualar season title and I know what the rpi was but I watched them five times this year and they are no good ....

IMHO - FWIW ...
