It was the typical yelling at the umpire, flip bat thing.
No it wasn't. The kid threw his bat down and then went right into the umpire face-to-face. Definitely not your run of the mill college player reaction.
But as I've said before, I understand the kid's emotion.

Those saying that pitch was a strike are probably the same ones who said Snikeris clearly came off the bag yesterday
Snikeris foot did come off the bag. Only by about an inch though and the ump had a clear view.
ETA: still a bullshite call, umps should have made it known it was a walk.

I won't defend all of the batter's actions but that was a horrible call under any circumstances. To end a team's season on a call like that was just brutal.
Not sure I would have went after the umpire like he did but I would have definitely let him know that he blew the call.
This.

Maybe the guy overreacted to some degree, but that was not even a close call. This isn't exactly how you want to end a game with the ump making a bad call.

the ump will (or at least should) feel like shite later when he watches the replay

I might have taken the bat to him and regretted it the rest of my life.

Correct.

Definitely not your run of the mill situation either. Don't have a problem with the kid doing that.

Not even close. The catcher is setup outside and still reaching for it.

Umps are there to call the game, not dictate the game.
BALL 4, WALK! and there is no sliding into 2nd to even put yourself into position to have hand off bag.
Terrible, simply terrible.

LOL at people saying he should have swung, that's in the other batter's box...terrible way to end the game, the ump was ready to go after all the rain delays the past 2 days.
Posted on 6/10/12 at 6:44 pm to STBTigerr
Yeah that was one of those pitches that you pretty much have to step out of your batters box just to fight off. Terrible call.
Batter had a right to be pissed, but not a right to absolutely throw a temper tantrum.
However...
Frequently you see the winning team in the final at bat get pretty much any pitch called a strike.

And for all the "protect the plate" people, that would have been really difficult to hit, He would have had to lean over the plate and reach out his bat to swing. He probably would have missed and everyone would be like "WTF was he swinging at that shite for?"
Not nearly close enough to go after. Ever.
