Leonard is a bit of an enigma. I didn’t hate the contract we gave him at the time because he was a 50/40/90 guy at 7’ tall. He can really shoot it and he’s yoked!
However... he lacks defensive instict... what I mean by that: watch him when he’s on the floor. He’s constantly turning his head from ball carrier to his assignment. Then watch Zach Collins. He can sense where his guy is while watching the ball. Leonard just has no clue wtf is going on outside of what hes physically looking at. Then when he’s timid to shoot, he sucks at offense too. I think it was game 7 against DEN he ran a PnR with Lillard and Lillard gave it to him right in his gut under the hoop and Leonard took half a sec to realize he had the ball before dunking it.
Zach Collins instincts with Leonard’s body would a 20/10 guy.
