He averaged like 15 points per game in the four years before his injury.

Maybe he would’ve been better, but that’s a guess.

Allan Houston had a few really nice years.

Malone proved it for almost two decades.

And I’m not some big Malone fanboy, but to say Walton was as good is absurd.

What you're saying is that a guy who led his team to a championship winning Finals MVP and league MVP before he was 25 (Something I believe only Kareem has also done) wouldn't have either kept the same level or not gotten better if he hadn't gotten injured. And he may have only scored 15 ppg but his offensive metrics were as good as Malone's.

Walton showed with the Celtics that he still had a high basketball IQ but was physically a shell of himself.

That’s nonsense.

It is not a requirement to have had to have been there to understand that those teams weren’t as good and MJ is a product of media hype and y’all being Kamala voter levels of dumb. Idk if I said that right, but you know what u mean.

Waltons years at Portland were salty. It’s a shame injuries got him in his prime. Did they test for drugs back then?

Well. You know how I feel about Bron. Whaff to he is doing at his age is simply remarkleable. But still flops and cries way more than a veteran of his years should, but I’ve been watching the game for over 50 years and this is where I stand….

MJ
Magic
Kareem
LeBron
Hakeem
Bird
Kobe
Shaq
Wilt
Oscar

Lebron has had a great career but he’s no different than the group of other 3-4 time winners. The stats argument has so many holes in it it’s laughable and anyone who argues purely on paper is just showing their ignorance. Different eras produce different results, there’s a reason Lebrons actual game has declined but his numbers have gone up. It’s not because he’s better now than he was in 2013, he’s not even close to that player anymore.

Just look at the previous face of the league type players, MJ and Shaq. Rules had to be changed to stop or limit their dominance. With Lebron, rules were changed to help him win more yet other players stepped in and won more or just as much in a lane that was created for him. That says everything about him compared to the others.

Good list but peak Tim Duncan has to be knocking on that top 10 door.

And what about Curry? Maybe the greatest pure shooter ever?

I agree. Overeating Malone is foolish.

The 90s Bulls aren't winning 6 titles in 8 years in the 80s, the 00s, or the 10s.

What rule was changed for MJ? Bringing in the 3pt line closer so he could make more 3s? lol. The league finally implemented zone defense right after he retired.

What rule was changed for LeBron?

Teams cannot overload one side of the floor anymore to isolate one guy. That was changed because of MJ. Not sure you read my post correctly, zone was put in because of Shaq, not Jordan. For Lebron the freedom of movement rules were put in which originally allowed him to just play downhill uncontested but it also had an unintended consequence of loosening defense beyond the perimeter which allowed guys like Curry to take over the league.

Those freedom of movement rules were not put in for LeBron. That was put in in 2004-2005, which was after LeBron's rookie season when he averaged 20 ppg as a 19 year old.

They were put in because of the Pistons, who were winning playoff games with total scores in the 60s.

eta - 01 to 04 was the only time the NBA had both Zone and Hand checking.

They aren't having the same success against Magic/Kareem/Worthy Lakers and the 86 Celtics as they did against Barkley and Kevin Johnson or Gary Payton and Shawn Kemp lol.

Same with the Kobe and Shaq Lakers and the Tim/Tony/Manu Spurs in the 00s. The Heat and the Steph/Klay/Dray/KD Warriors in the 10s.

Jordan would have won some titles. But with the level of competition and the other super teams around he aint winning that frequently without more help. 90s were the most watered down decade since the 70s.

I literally gave you evidence on when freedom of movement was implemented and why.

The pistons were in the NBA finals, a game away from a title after freedom of movement rules started.
