That's a hard no from me. There will be much fewer "max" players moving forward in the 2nd apron era.

Trams are still wheeling and dealing

Shams Charania
@ShamsCharania

The Detroit Pistons are trading Caris LeVert and two second-round picks to the Milwaukee Bucks for Taurean Prince and Gary Harris, sources tell ESPN. Pistons will create a trade exception from the deal and savings while Bucks acquire LeVert and pick up assets.

@ShamsCharania

Just in: Free agent Khris Middleton has agreed on a three-year, $17.6 million deal with the Washington Wizards via sign-and-trade, agent Mike Lindeman of Excel Sports Management tells ESPN. The 14-year veteran returns to D.C. where he spent parts of last two seasons as a leader with championship presence.

Dallas is sending Middleton to the Wizards via sign-and-trade as part of a larger six-team deal that includes, in total, the Mavericks, Wizards, Clippers, Pistons, Bucks and Grizzlies. It involves previously agreed upon deals such as John Collins, Gary Harris and Taurean Prince (Detroit), Isaiah Stewart (Memphis), Santi Aldama (Mavericks), Caris LeVert (Bucks), etc.

Wemby gets paid. 5 years $251 million.

He opted for the 25% max instead of the 30% supermax which saves the Spurs $50 mil over the contract ( $10 mill per year)

Great deal for both sides.

Presti doing work

Atlanta Hawks now have Lu Dort, Aaron Wiggins, SGA’s cousin and Cason Wallace’s brother.

Shams Charania
@ShamsCharania

Oklahoma City has now acquired seven second-round picks this offseason, shed $224 million in payroll and tax and positioned themselves comfortably under the second apron via the trades of Dort, Isaiah Joe and Aaron Wiggins.

Rather than simply declining Dort's $17.7 million team option to save the money, the Thunder picked it up, acquired three future assets, created a $17M trade exception and place their 2025 championship stalwart in position for a new long-term deal in Atlanta which was not viable in OKC.

The Hawks now are teaming up a 27-year-old elite defender in Dort with Dyson Daniels and Nickeil Alexander-Walker on the wings -- and will have $40+ million in cap space next summer. Atlanta pursued several wings this offseason before landing Dort.
