Ha, I thought the same thing about Pelinka. Funny too that he has become more successful than his Fab Five teammates.

How is it "coup"?

Lakers are about 6 seed right now, maybe less.

I cant imagine how many superlatives you'd run out for a 4th seed level Lakers.

This is looking more and more like Houston is banking that CP3 has Melo convinced to join them. Even if they get Melo they still need to defend... especially when you play GS.

Financial coup, yes. They will not be anywhere close to GSW or HOU

Tiggerthetooth, do you know what the word coup means?

The greatest player of all time signing with the premiere glamour franchise while still in his prime absolutely is a coup.

David Ricky, that is not at all what a coup means.

Lakers fans getting retarded up in here.

I'm not shocked, LeBron has that effect.

Eta: not really a common use for coup.

I assumed you meant it as the Lakers taking over the league.

To be fair, greatest laker of all time and greatest player of all time are two different things

Right. A coup in sports contexts is something unexpected IMO. Vegas had LAL as most likely a few weeks ago, right? Give Magic credit for not messing it up, but the league's best player going to one of the league's best franchises is not earth shattering.

Is absolutely a coup considering Lebron had much better places to sign to compete for titles.

Well, then it's not a coup because it was a lifestyle decision that was already made due to geography.

Convincing Lebron to leave the friendly confines of the East to join a super young Lakers squad with no other all star would describes the above imo

Yes the Lakers were the most talked about destination but no one on planet earth thought he would go to LA alone
