Honestly not a bad gig. There's nothing better than opening up some boxes and then the packs and looking through all of the spoils. Thanks again bro
It's definitely not bad doing it in smaller doses. Sorting and mailing the cards is the exact opposite to the fun I have opening them. Takes a decent chunk of time. Some of the larger breaking outlets hire people to sort and mail the stuff. As evidenced by my NSFW reaction to seeing that Davis card, it's certainly cool to open the stuff, and I'm rooting for a big time card for people.
Whoever won either of those two cards, I'd consider sending them in to Beckett Grading Services. That Jaylen Brown is very cleanly centered. The Davis is centered really well (definitely better than above average I'd say, look at below example that got 9.5, just as centered or better imo but I'm not a pro-grader), but that Brown from what I can tell is about as close as you'll get. Prizm low numbered rookies are decent sells as well.
Jaylen Brown graded card
This is a 9.5/10 version. $830.00 is a tad bit high. But you can see the difference. Look at the difference between the green where the Prizm is and the other side's green. It's definitely larger on one side than the other. Now look at the Brown pulled yesterday. The top and bottom are almost identical. That graded card got a 9.5 for Centering. I've seen BGS throw some stupid grades (bad) for no reason; but if that card got a 9.5, the one yesterday should easily be a 10. The auto is definitely just as clean. No smudges. Slightly more defined. That card has a chance at being a 10/10 (probably not a black label- all 10s across the board, that's so hard), but could definitely make a 10 rating. It's all so random though. They find things to nit pick and I'm sure certain graders are bigger d**** than others. To me, the Brown pulled yesterday is an insanely clean card.

If I was gonna get a few boxes for myself, what would be best to order? Aside from a gold standard by itself
Gold Standard/Select/Absolute, probably in that order. Also think about the fun of opening the boxes. Gold Standard, you get the brick, some likely decent on-card autos, but you're done in 15 seconds. Select you get 12 packs and just as many hits (Select is pretty exact with theirs, I think Gold Standard can exceed their number), but the numbering will probably be higher (bad higher on average like /299 or /99 instead of /149 or /49 etc.) on them with a greater chance at just jersey cards from what I've seen. Absolute can be a lot better than we saw yesterday. The Limited and Revolution, I didn't know what I was getting into. Just ordered them to add some different feel to the break. Won't do it again. I've cracked a lot of Absolute though and those were some doo-doo boxes.

I didn't realize they were only $20 a card (for 10-day delivery). Definitely worth it, especially if I can get at least a 9.5 return

Court Kings is a pretty good product as well. Some nice hits out of the product.

Didn't want to bump the old MLB thread, but just wanted to let you know my Dae-Ho Lee cards came in the other day in perfect condition. Look forward to getting rid of them on eBay for $.99 Buy It Now. Thanks for all your work with this. Bummed I missed the NBA break.

Anyone bust any packs lately?

Pel you've awakened a new hobby in me. Never was into collecting cards, but now I see it as gambling so I can feed that addiction

Multi-spots Absolute 16-17 Hoops next. Cheap spots. Then I'm going to run a football one hopefully. I kind of want to see how some of the newer products are (Certified being one). See if we can bust something kind of fresh. Football scares me a little...with baseball or basketball, if I get stuck with having to bust my own case and live with it, ok.

I'm gonna get that Jaylen graded and flip that. Get some funds to go get a Dak and Zeke auto, and hopefully a few others

I've just been itching to buy cards since the break. I forgot how much fun it is. I blew so much money growing up on cards.

I got back into it like 4 years ago. Sold some SNES games for about $600 on eBay and used that to get back into it.
I'm more about having an auto or jersey and less worried about numbered or on-card since I know that drives the price

Dak and Zeke
Football it feels more than any other is driven by a select few. I just don't see the value. It's why I wouldn't want to get stuck with a case. Michael Thomas was an 1100 yd 9 TD receiver last year. You can get on card rookie patch autos of his for $75.00. That's NUTS. If anyone in the NBA or MLB was blowing up like that year 1 their stuff would be crazy expensive. NFL. You have to hit Dak. Even EZE cards could suffer a big hit in value if he gets suspended.
