So apparently the negotiations are ongoing between the Cavs and Wolves. Cleveland's ready to give them Wiggins, Bennett and the 2 #1s. That's more than fair considering that the Cavs still have to actually man a roster to compete.
If Minnesota wants more than that I'd tell them they can choke on it. Anything more than that and it's a rip off.

Personally I hope it's all false. I wouldn't even pick up the phone until January.

Gilbert's an idiot if he does that. Two 1st overall picks, one of which has no ceiling to how great he can become, and another 1st round pick for a guy they could just try and sign next season or make Minnesota sweat and wait until February to get him cheaper.
I've got a plan, why not LeBron opt out and help his team like he did in Miami? I never understood wanting the max money anyway outside of a status symbol for him.

It may be better just starting the season and see how the players look.
If Bennett and Wiggins start showing some real promise it may end up being a poor decision to trade all those assets for Love.
The two picks they have right now look like the may be in the middle to late first, but it is a lot to give up IMO.
I don't know if Love makes them this unbeatable force and if he isn't enough they will have no way to greatly improve for a while.

Wtf is Cleveland doing? They have leverage on Minnesota but the price for Kevin Love keeps going up

If they give away wiggins, Bennett AND draft picks then they need to be ashamed of themselves

Minny has the leverage bc of Golden State

This x1000. Thats just too much. Are people forgetting that Love is gonna skate on MIN next year anyway? If GS can't pull it off, with the price driven way up, they could prob sign him next year and keep all their investments. Dumb

First off, LBJ has never been the highest paid player on his team. Ever. The best player in the world has never been the highest paid player on his team. In 11 years in the NBA. Think about that. Not the highest paid player in the NBA, but on his team.
Secondly, if youre LBJ why wouldnt you want the max? You are the best player in the world. You should be getting the max deal. If not LBJ getting a max contract, who should then?
And its not just a status symbol either. It messes with free agency contracts and what not if the best player in the world gets less than a max. The best players in the NBA, aka the stars, should be making the most $$$ in the league. Teams would use the "well LBJ didnt sign a max deal" and it lowers everyone elses contracts. And at the same time, when someone like Joe Johnson signs a max deal, that makes teams overpay for free agents that arent necessarily a max deal type of player. Joe Johnson is a good NBA player, not saying hes not, but he is not a max deal player.
And better yet.... why wouldnt Lebron want max $$$? Like I said earlier, hes never been the highest paid player on his team. Until now. And hes been the best player in the NBA for a while.

He certainly deserves the max, nobody is questioning that.
The reason he wouldn't take it is so his team could afford to put other pieces around him.

Wiggins, Bennett won't play tonight for #Cavs. Team says plan was always for them to play in just 4 summer league games if all went well.

Shittt, for some reason I'm actually gonna be kind of pissed if Cleveland botches this deal.

It's happening isn't it?
