I would have to say the Bulls are winners this offseason imo. It is actually kind of similar to when we lost the LeBron sweepstakes in 2010. We missed our big target and signed a few really solid guys and made to the ECF. Coming up just short of a trip to the NBA Finals.

Rose getting injured and re injured really hurt and set us back obviously. This time we missed our top target again, but we made some good moves in the draft and so far during free agency and have a solid team with quality depth. Getting Melo would have been big, everyone knows we have needed another guy to create his own shot to take pressure off of Rose, but i'm happy with the way things worked out. I am pretty excited for the upcoming season and I really feel like we have as good a shot as anyone to win the East as long as we stay healthy.

UPDATE: Dwyane Wade and the Heat have agreed to a 2-year, $34 million deal, with a player option for the 2015-16 season. (via @AP)

Clearly the team from Houston is a f/a loser.
Miami replaced LeBron with Deng and paid Bosh 118 mil. They gave Wade 15 mil a year. Losers.

Also the Lakers...wtf?

Dallas got a lot better.

SA has everyone back.

New Orleans got better.

Chicago? I don't buy them as the winner...Pau is a nice fit but isn't the missing link. Rose was already on the team. He doesn't count. Getting the dude from overseas will help.

I hated Dirk so much in that 2011 Conference Finals but man it is hard to dislike a guy like him.

Seems to be hilarious on/off the court as well.

To be fair, he's only played 49 games total in the last 3 years.

Memphis must stamp '14-15 guarantee today to keep Nick Calathes - who wants an out for Greece - but unlikely Griz let him go, sources say.

Sucks for Calathes, but contracts exist for a reason

Memphis has tried to acquire what it felt would be upgrade on Calathes to accommodate him, but has been unable, sources tell Yahoo.

For the record, my boy Jason Gallagher from ballerball.com made that. He's a pretty funny follow on twitter:

Gortat @ 12mil/yr is solid compared to what other bigs are getting paid and even other players are getting paid.

I think it may be 1-2mil too much, but he's a solid big that brings 13/10 that doesn't demand the ball since he's the 3rd/4th option

It is more the years on Gortat's deal that makes it a bad one

Seriously go follow Jason. He comes up with shite like that all the time. Has some hilarious videos too.

Big Mavs fan to boot. I know he's affiliated with ESPN now and possibly Grantland too.

Never retire Dirk. Dallas is lucky to have a guy like him.

5 years, he'd be 35 by the time it comes to an end. He's only had 4 seasons as a starter and he's one of the fittest centers in the league. I think it may have been at most 1 year too long, but it isn't like he's crippled like some of the older players in this league.

Around NBA, common question: Will players take less money to join LeBron James in Cleveland? They did in Miami. Miller's a good test case.
