The only thing that improved for Lakers was hiring Joerger and trading for AD.
Players care a lot about how an org is run, and Lakers are clownshow in that regard.
They have no draft assets. And they botched their own cap so as of today they are broke and have poor depth, as in sign 3 solid players and even then they need 3 point shooters. And bigs. And guards.
Pelinka thought Heath Ledger was still alive and used Kobe's name.

Vegas wants money, so putting favorable odds for a popular team like the Lakers benefits them when they make a splash trade or signing. They want guys that don't think big picture like you betting.

I'm talking about the Finals. You could Forrest Gump your way through the East and still make the finals. Point is, they had 7 guys they could rely on in the Finals and that's how you beat the teams in the West.
