ESPN Sources with @TimBontemps: The Sacramento Kings are agreed on a sign-and-trade that will land DeMar DeRozan on a three-year deal, send Harrison Barnes to the San Antonio Spurs and Chris Duarte, two second-round picks and cash to the Chicago Bulls.

So basically at this point in free agency, we have:
East:
Boston - resigned all their guys, their starting 5 payroll will double some entire teams. No new additions or big losses.
NY Knicks - Add Bridges, lost Hartenstein. If they get healthy, they're a small bit better than last year.
Milwaukee - No major additions or losses.
Cleveland - No changes, resigned Mitchell.
Orlando - Added KCP...makes them a tiny bit better.
Indianapolis - Nothing major...sign Wiseman and resign a few guys.
Philly - George, Drummond, Martin, Gordon...decent bit better.
Chicago - Picked up some trash while losing Derozan, Drummond, Caruso. Will be a dumpster fire.
Miami - Nothing major happening.
Atlanta - Traded Dejounte for a few guys but nothing noteworthy.
Rest of east is punching bags and don't mean nothing. None have done anything to make themselves into contenders.
West:
OKC - Swapped Caruso and Hartenstein for Giddey. They got better.
Minnesota - No huge changes. Lost Anderson. Added Ingles. No change really.
Denver - Lost KCP, add nobody noteworthy. Their window will close if they don't make a move.
LA Clippers - Lost George for nothing. Add Batum and Mo Bamba? Big step backwards if they don't have Kawhi healthy for a whole season.
Dallas - Added Klay Thompson and a couple of young guys, got rid of Hardaway. Small to moderate step in the right direction.
Phoenix - No major changes. Still one of the best rosters on paper, if they ever figure their shite out.
LA Lakers - Bronnie. They've sold out the season to the James family.
New Orleans - Add Dejounte Murray. Lost Valancuinas who I'm a fan of and think is underrated. Decent move to get Murray but need more.
Sacramento - Derozan should be a big boost for them. Lost a few pieces but nothing they will miss terribly.
Golden State - Buddy Heild will be fun next to Curry...Could have done worse replacing Play. Losing Paul not that big of a deal. Need another guy.
Houston - Nothing noteworthy. Gonna roll with the young guys again I guess.
San Antonio - Paul and Barnes make them a little better, but not 20-30 wins better. Still a couple years away.
Rest of West is meaningless.
So far, I'd say your big winner in the east is Philly. Only other teams to add a noteworthy player were Knicks and Orlando, but think they're both still a bit behind. Maybe George gives Philly the star power to match Boston...but I don't think it will. East was pretty stagnant or going backwards.
In the west, I think OKC got much, much better and will be even scarier. Dallas has potential to be a bit better. Minnesota just hoping their young stars keep developing. LAC, Denver take a small step back. Bottom half of the conference just kinda watching. Phoenix, Lakers, Houston just watching.
Pretty boring offseason thus far.

He's a fricking miracle, he went from:
College, NBA Draft, to Free agency in 5 months.

Can someone here explain to me why three way trades are so popular in the NBA?
You rarely see them in the other leagues, but they seem common for the NBA. Admittedly, I don’t follow the nba close, so if this is a stupid question forgive me

Salary matching is a bigger deal in the NBA than other leagues.
If teams want to swap players but the salary amounts don’t match, another team gets involved to work things out for a cost.
Ex - If we want to send Brandon Ingram out, we have to be able to find a team able to take on $36m in space. That may not be the same team who is sending us assets back unless everyone is happy with all the moving parts.
We theoretically send BI to one team, Detroit eats salaries, and we get a player and picks back for less than the $36m because Detroit is able to absorb contracts without sending money back.

I’ve seen enough of shepherd in summer league shut him down
As far as bronny what a joke and he shouldn’t even get a g league roster spot

Reed is going to either be Mark Price or Curry-lite. I can easily see him winning ROY. He is awesome.
For the Wiz, Bub Carrington looks like he is going to be a great one and Sarr has a ton of potential.

Reed looks like the best player in the draft (I know it’s a bit early)
