What I love about him is that he was a star in Europe. He was popular, but he has always been a glue guy. Bringing a great glue player from Europe is better than bringing a star who you try to make a glue guy in the NBA.
Great, great point.
I didn't follow him before--did he ever play with Acie? I know he's a bit of a celeb in Greece with his success on their team over there. Just curious.
Regardless, yeah, he does seem like a Spur in everything except the uniform. Reminds me of Tiago kinda. Career-wise, that is.
Hope he has a great career with y'all

Seems like a lot of teams are starting to trend that way, though. Good for the sport. You'll always have your stars, but bball is a team game at the end of the day.
Excluding OKC, a ton of the top teams in the West are playing some beautiful basketball.

The NBA is headed in an awesome direction. Full of talent, and lots of teams with great ball movement. The Spurs success has really rubbed off on the rest of the league.

How many Americans are on the Spurs?

I forget about all of the times I thought the Spurs were done. Never again. The Spurs aren't done until the are eliminated in my eyes.
I thought we were done in 2010 after the Suns swept us.
Then I thought the Grizz sank our last chance to win with the Big 3 in 2011. ESPN even had a graphic with Tim, Tony, and Manu with the caption "The Last Rodeo?"
I gave up on them ever winning again after the '13 Finals. I can admit it. That one hurt ya boi
Anything they do henceforth is gravy. I know better than to be greedy with all the talent in the West.

I've heard his contract could be messy. Morey tried to protect himself from signing a bust, so it's only a two year deal with some kind of option. Don't remember the exact details. I think if he's great, Morey will bring him back though.

Kawhi Leonard
Danny Green
Tim Duncan (yes, US Virgin Islands, but hell, he's repped the USA in the olympics )
Kyle Anderson
Little known fact: Tony Parker's dad is American. He was just raised overseas.

Hopefully Morey and co. work out the deets. Da Big Greek is one of those diamond in the rough type players you don't want to get away.

Mind. Blown.

Yeah, iirc, his dad married a dutch model or something, Tony was born in belgium but raised in France.
Or something like that

It still irks me that nobody ever gives Tony shite for cheating on Eva Longoria with Brent Barry's wife while my team's players are constantly ridiculed.

It amazes me how quickly that blew over
Apparently the Spurs are like teflon when it comes to controversy: nothing seems to stick for long.
Remember when George Hill got negative pub for texting dick pics to girls? That got swept under the rug, too

Interesting the fiancee hates Parker for that exact reason.. Him and Tony Romo "he broke up with her on her birthday OMG".
Dwight created so much hate in the past couple years, but I would love to have him on the Pels.. I just won't cheer for his success (I don't want him hurt or anything) unless he is a Pel
Harden is awesome and the only thing people don't like is how many free throws he takes. As a fan watching games I hate free throws and he takes SO many..
Edit: Patrick Beverley.. Do you guys LOVE him or is it one of those things where, we love him cause we got him...

He and Westbrook
Actually, I hate Harden because he reminds me of a black Ginobili. Manu's my favorite player, and I know how much he irks folks, but Harden is like a karmic taste of my own medicine

I will be the first to admit that I wouldn't like Dwight if he wasn't in Houston, but I really like Harden. He is really hard to stop. If it was easy to get to the free throw line, more people would do it. You just have to appreciate the skill. He really only goes to the line about once a quarter, which in the grand scheme of things, isn't THAT noticeable during a game.

I never thought I would say this, but I'm starting to think Harden's eurostep is deadlier than Ginobili's. It's crazy how much ground he can cover. And tons of uninformed fans scream travel every time.

As a non-Rockets fan--I love him.
Love a guy who's not afraid to get in your airspace on defense

Oh yeah that aspect is awesome...Not debating that

Beverley also leads the NBA in threes made per game. He is a point guard who doesn't really run the offense (Harden does), but he is great at guarding the other team's best guard and hitting open threes.
