This is prolly the best idea of the new season. Danica more than likely WILL cause some crazy wreck.....hopefully not (fingers crossed) but i like to see Jeff Gordon return to being an actual contender in this season. It would be nice to see the vets get a shot at it this time instead of Jimmie Johnson or Stewart.

I haven't read the entire topic, but is anyone else surprised that Vickers doesn't have a ride at all this year? I mean Red Bull sold the team to Burger King. So now we have BK Racing with the 83 and 93. They had the chance to keep Vickers but chose to go with Landon Cassill and Travis Kvapil.
I mean I know the dude missed almost an entire year because of blood clots, but he had been cleared by multiple doctors. I mean the dude out dueled Kyle Busch at Richmond a couple of years ago to make the Chase. He obviously has talent a hell of a lot of talent. Most of his performance last year can be blamed on Red Bull just showing up to the track and not giving a crap. I cant believe no one (Cup, Nationwide, or Trucks) has offered this guy this year

I don't think anyone mentioned him. I'm surprised he is not with a team if he wants to race. He has talent.

After reading this article link, it kind of makes sense. Vickers must want more cash than BK was willing to give. I mean that team went from Kahne [who was leaving anyways] and Vickers to Cassill and Kvapil? In the article, Vickers says:
"I had options... But unfortunately for me, none of them were the right fit."
"Not the right fit" and "sticking to my guns" sound like the compensation isn't right.

I really don't understand this train of thought. Now he doesn't have a ride and isn't getting paid anything. Racing isn't like free agency in other sports. There aren't as many driver's or teams to go around so sometimes it's best to take whatever ride you can get.

Clearly, pure speculation on my part, but it just sounds like he thinks he is worth more than what his options were. From the same article, he did go on to further say:

The duels were pretty good I thought. Danica took a monster lick. Stewart just looks like he has another gear than everyone else.
