Another thing, I wish the Clash/Shootout/Unlimited were back on Saturday night. I know it was originally on Sunday, so when the renamed it "The Clash" they went back to that. but I prefer Saturday night races.

And before you say that’s a dumb thing to do remember there are 39 other guys who are pushing it as far as they can and you’ll be left behind
Given the new penalties, it's dumb as frick. It means you passed the pre-race inspection, then changed something.

Its definitely been up and down. Who was the no name team that he went to? I forgot about that.

Number 51, Phoenix racing.

My point was those that are pushing the envelopes as far as they can then accidentally go to far, which is most of the violations they fine
You are correct about those who KNOW what they are doing is against the rules
Most of the issues come from areas of the rules that may be vague or not fully addressed

I get that, but with the new penalties, anything you change after pre-race can kill you. That would be stupid.

Anyone watched any practice today? Wish the Clash were tonight.

Hamlin, Harvick, Newman, and Elliot had a small crash near the end of Clash practice. A couple of them are going to back-up cars.

Did not see that. In what I did see of Clash practice, the drafting was pretty decent. My hope is that we can get away from not being able to get a second line going, of course, that depends on drivers getting out of line and making an effort to get a second line going (and not waiting until the last lap to do so).

Yeah, that single file shite gets boring quick. If that's how they run, I'll just tune in for the last 10 laps or so.

Daytona 500 qualifying and the clash are today. Although rain is in the forecast.

I think that’s right.

Question: any suggestions for sites with good* overall NASCAR coverage? I've followed Thatsracin for years, but it seems to have really fallen off recently.
*good defined as thorough, fast and/or frequently updated.

Wow. I used to hit that site regularly but had forgotten all about it.
NBC Sports site has pretty good coverage.
Racer.com has decent NASCAR coverage, but I read it more for IndyCar news and Robin Miller's weekly mailbag.
