The court documents filed Tuesday but released publicly Wednesday, obtained by "Outside the Lines," strongly suggest the NCAA provided an investigative blueprint to Freeh. Correspondence between Freeh and the NCAA began less than two weeks after Freeh's firm was hired by Penn State, with a Nov. 30, 2011, request from NCAA president Mark Emmert to speak by phone with Freeh.

Trying to hammer Penn State is probably the best thing he ever did.

.....and this is a problem because.....?

If I were a PSU fan, I would just let this whole discussion die. What Sandusky did was disgusting.

You don't overlook the lies and bullshite of the NCAA just because you think the punishment fits the crime

Just as you don't overlook the violation of a criminal's rights just because you feel the punishment fits the crime

ETA when they come after your school, you will want them to do an honest investigation

I haven't really been following this, is Penn St. suing the NCAA? I wonder if the NCAA saw all this stuff coming out and that's why they lifted the sanctions.

He and the NCAA had no jurisdiction as it was a criminal matter

Also they just went way too far trying to get heat away from the NCAA.

Penn St has played their cards correctly

The whole news media "facts" - the Freeh Report, the NCAA and the blackmail to accept those ridiculous and unwarranted sanctions - was all utter dross.

Only total sheeple idiots ever believed the made-up cover-up story of Paterno perpetuated by media from the beginning.

Penn State is not suing the NCAA. There are certain groups suing the NCAA like Jay Paterno along with some former PSU players. I think the state of PA is also suing the NCAA.

Early on Penn State has made it clear it wants no part of these lawsuits but since they were named in the lawsuits they have to participate to some degree. As the information is coming out I think they may change their stance.

And Joe Pa covering it up and allowing him to hang around the program all those years is just as bad.

The Board of Trustees were a bunch of cowards who didn't care about facts or reality - just media damage control - and we all know the media doesn't give a crap about facts and truth - just selling airtime and newspapers...and JoePa sold.

Half of what the media told all you minions from the beginning has turned out to be totally false.

The media could have made Joe the hero - and attacked the real criminal org. Second Mile.

But being a hero doesn't sell like being the villian...and nobody gives a crap about Second Mile and Sandusky...they only care about the big name...Paterno. That sold. Not the DA claiming from the outset Joe played it by the books...and that ginger liar never told Joe that he saw Sandusky raping a child in a shower...never told him it was sexual...per his deposition...but the media reported it that he told Joe that Sandusky was raping a child. Utter dross.

Very inaccurate and very untruthful. Sandusky was tenured Paterno had no control of that. Paterno did not control who has access to buildings.

Joe Pa, the head football coach at Penn State for 193 years had no control over whether or not Jerry Sandusky, a man who Pa knew was raping little boys in the football showers, was allowed in the athletic buildings.

Do you really expect me to believe that?

As a public institution Paterno had no control over who the University gives access to. I guess people do not know or realize who issues keys to employees or tenured staff.

Do not let facts get in your way though

You'er probably right, Nick Saban, who has only been at Alabama for 8 years, probably has no say so in what happens in his athletic facilities.

You and the Penn State morons have to be the most naive people on the planet. Right up there with the Jim Jones followers and the Haley Bop Comet people.

Saban has no right to say who the University can allow in the building. It is a public place. The University sets policy, not Saban.

You can bet your arse if some child molester was roaming Alabama's football office, and Saban knew it, he'd make sure that guy was no longer allowed in his facilities.

So you buy the ole', "Joe Pa turned his concerns over to the proper authorities"? Joe Pa never once questioned why the rhythmic slapper was a) not in prison (because that's the real authorities who should have been alerted) and b) was still roaming the Penn State football offices?

You can bet your arse if a tenured employee was given access to Alabama's facilities by the University there's not a damn thing Saban can do about it. I do not get what is so hard to understand. That facility is not just Saban's, it is the University's and they control who get access to it.

Paterno never witnessed anything and was never charged. He heard a from a guy and reported it. Again facts are facts and stories are stories. Just like the story that got a Syracuse Basketball coach career ruined over a lie. People stating facts that are not true are just a lie.
