Lynn Swann only played 8 seasons and retired.

Don't know if you call it burnout, but Pat Tillman left football very early in his career to join the military.

He's been mentioned, but Chris Borland. Dude was a tackle MACHINE that rookie season.

I believe it was solely due to concussion concerns. I remember thinking that was the beginning of a trend. Thankfully I was wrong
