Well, didn't teams basically shun him because they thought he was more dedicated to being a doctor than being a football player.

Turns out they were right, I guess. That's why no one wanted to invest any money in him.

I guess he made the decision that performing life-saving brain surgeries was a better job than one where you are asked to donate your brain when you die to study the effects of repetitive head trauma?
