So how did they become king? I'm seeing a lot of resentment on YouTube. And I wasn't impressed with them when I submitted either.

Because they have been the most consistent grading company with good pricing and TAR

BGS is incredibly slow, expensive and their submission form was archaic compared to its peers (I think they just completely redid it though?)

CGC is too new and way too sketchy in how they do things. Plus they change their grading scales as often as they change what they'll be called

Don't forget that PSA bought SGC

Love that SGC is #2 now. They have always been the most consistent grading and their customer service is for sure the best. Their vintage sales comps are killing it right now.

Kind of surprised that CGC is almost even with SGC though. That must be counting Pokemon because you just don't see nearly as many sports cards in them. They are close to even with PSA on sold comps with Pokemon.

If yall got some mid to high end cards you want to try and sell I'll put em out for you too.

Hopefully PSA doesn't kill them off with the acquisition. I absolutely hate those SGC slabs though, my god are they ugly and cheap

It's all cards. CGC racks in on shite slabs for Pokemon

Yea hopefully they just keep the same people in place and just collect money. I'm kind of opposite, I love the tuxedo slabs Black and white goes with everything. I like that they add the / to the slab if the card is numbered. But yea, I can 100% see why someone wouldn't like them because they are pretty basic. Definitely better than their old school slabs though. I honestly like Becketts slabs the best but I just can't submit to them any more, it's just not worth it.

Speaking of ugly slabs I get they want to match the comic slabs but man those blue Pokemon slabs are the worst.

The slabs themselves feel incredibly cheap, nothing like BGS, PSA or CGC

They only use black labels now, it's the same label across sports and Pokemon

PSA has always felt the cheapest to me. They bring the most ROI so it doesn't really matter what they feel like. Wish they'd at either put the cards in a sleeve inside or make the fit just a tiny bit tighter. A standard size card like rattles around inside a PSA slab.

Ahh, nice. Didn't realize they switched the Pokemon over. Much better. Do they do sub grades on the back?

AlI of that is news to me. I didn't find their pricing any better than anyone else when I submitted years ago. I guess they are consistent. Consistently tough graders that is. I didn't find them to return orders very quickly.

Unless they recently changed how they operate, their slabs are too thin for my liking. Offer no sub grades. And have no inner sleeve to protect the cards. Every PSA slab I have, the card moves around in the slab. And I don't like that several labels look wrinkled inside the slab.

I have in my possession a New Orleans Jazz workout sweatshirt made by Russell Mills, Inc, a division of Russell Athletics that is supposed to have been issued to and worn by Pete Maravich. It is gold in color and the Jazz emblem and basketball are in purple with a number 7 in the middle of the basketball.

When the Jazz were in New Orleans, they would practice in the Tulane gym. The athletic trainer for Tulane would attend their practices. One day, Pistol Pete took off this sweatshirt and put it in the gym bleachers. After practice, he left the gym without the sweatshirt. The athletic trainer saw it, picked it up and kept it.

After the trainer left Tulane, he began working at Nicholls State and him and I became good friends. He gave me the sweatshirt and told me how he obtained it. His story is all I have to go on.

He had connections all across the country. Once got me a pair of NIKE high top football artificial turf shoes from the Minnesota Vikings. They were white with purple swoosh and the label shows they were made in USA. Don’t see that much anymore.

Does Shaq ever do signings in Louisiana? I've got a 2x2 piece of the basketball court from when they replaced it. It has a few autos like Dale Brown and such but I would like to get his on it

What did everyone pick up at the show in Kenner? I didn't grab anything but a few 86 Fleer basketball cards to try and complete that set

I got a Lawrence Taylor autographed jersey out of a Tristar Hidden Treasures box yesterday, just wondering if it is worth much or should I just buy a display case for it to hang in my office?

With the premier league season coming up, I've been going hard for some of my arsenal baws. Here are a few case hit purchases I've made

Shreveport Geek’d Con and Sports Card Expo was this past weekend. I set up at it. Friday was dead (was from 5:00-9:00), Saturday was semi slow, and Sunday was a great day.

A few of my pickups:

Traded two Brady rookies I had duplicates of for the Manning and Parsons.

Traded this and cash for a Lebron rookie. Just traded because it was in my favor pretty good, definitely not a card I’m holding.

A few true game worn for the Brady PC.

Some random stuff…

Traded in my favor pretty good for these. Don’t know much about them but comps tells me I did good

Made a big trade for my Game of Thrones PC. Team Green vs Team Black.

Traded one Downtown and turned down offers on my other 3. Had people constantly trying to talk me down to 70-80% comps. It was getting old. Just wasn’t going to do that on DT’s. Listed them all last night on Facebook and sold them in 30 minutes.

Did have a guy steal 3 mega boxes from me though. That pissed me off.
