I'll take 2 points whether it comes in a shoot out or not. Putting up another 2 points would really put some heat on Detroit and Dallas while the CBJ rest for the Sunday game.

We just need to win. We are hanging on by a thread. I highly doubt we get a lead here.

I understand the tiebreaker, but that's not happening tonight.

Yeah but not having the tiebreaker is still rough, a ROW win tonight pulls within 1 of Detroit and CBJ has the 3rd tiebreaker already won.

I hope they take a look at changing how OT operates. Handing out three points in a game is ridiculous. They also need to get rid of the shootout.

The shootout gives an ending to a hard fought game that fans like. But it isn't fair.

I doubt it's going anywhere though.

I don't think it'll go anywhere either just because the alternatives aren't great. I'd rather them go to the pre pre lockout method of just awarding a tie. Playoff seeds shouldn't be determined by something as arbitrary as shootout wins/losses.

I like the 3-2-1 system.

3 points regulation win, 2 points OT/SO win, 1 point OT/SO loss.

As far as the tiebreaker being ROW, it's perfect, should reward the team that wins more games without needing a shootout.

3-2-1 is probably most fair. It would still preserve the excitement of the shootout.

The tiebreaker does not count shootouts.

True, but it shouldn't need to be like that.

SO win = OT or Regulation win = Unfair

Ties should be decided by sending out each team's biggest goon onto the ice and having a battle royale.

CBJ powerplay.

The equalizer needs to happen here.

We have been pitiful on the power play lately.

God fricking damn it. Can't say I'm disappointed with the road trip so far though. They need to win out. frick the Kings. I hate Jeff Carter.

I'm just referring to how many points teams can rack up in shootout losses and the affect this has on the standings. Take the Canucks for example, in third place now but wouldn't even be winning their division if not for points earned in shootout losses.

It's not points for shootout losses, it's going to OT.

And they could still be leading FWIW, depending how points were awarded.

They don't get a point for a shootout loss, they get a point for going to OT. Whether or not they lose in OT or a shootout doesn't change their point total.

I know the point is awarded the moment you get into OT, I just don't like that one point gets awarded to a team that loses in a shootout and the winner is awarded two points.

Unless a regulation win becomes worth three points, there shouldn't be three points awarded in a game that goes to OT.

Don't get mad because someone else was doing the exact same thing and we made a joke at you.

You're a fun punching bag.
