They really are. I think in my revision they will be at 3 in front of Philly. I think I was just all over Philly after watching them last night. Just looking at the jersey isnt the same as looking at the jersey + shorts + socks which just looked sharp last night. But I really like Toronto's clean classic look.

Interesting observation. I just thought RSL was trying to copy the Spain uniform. Are there any particular colors that would typically indicate a "real" club? The crown, at least, is there in the logo.
Maybe so.
Most of the "Real" clubs have some white.....Madrid, Zaragoza, Espanyol are blue and white, Betis are green and white.
I'd like to see RSL put the crown above the badge the way the clubs in Spain do it. I think there IS a tie between them and Real Madrid, isn't there? I haven't kept up with the business of MLS like I did in the years prior to and just after the inception of the league.

Same with Real Valladolid. Real España in Honduras is yellow and black. And I agree, the crown should be on top of the badge.

As for the Real Madrid connection, I just found this on wiki:

quote:

As of September of the 2006 season, Real Salt Lake and Real Madrid have signed a 10-year co-operative agreement. Among the provisions of the deal are a biennial friendly match between the two teams to take place in Salt Lake City, annual February training for RSL at the Real Madrid practice facility in Spain, and, perhaps most importantly, the creation of a $25 million elite youth academy in SLC that will train up to 200 players from ages 12 to 18.[15] The academy, a co-operative project for which Real Madrid will pay half the cost, will include academic facilities and dormitory housing, arguably becoming the first true soccer "youth system" in MLS, along with the Red Bull Academy effort of Red Bull New York. In this sense, it is part of a growing league-wide trend toward the emphasis of youth development, a trend which has been encouraged by the main office and jump-started by the league's decision to allow individual teams to maintain rights to the products of potential youth development systems.

Thats pretty cool.

Thank you Senor Pablo. I knew I'd read about the connection. I forgot about Valladolid, but I was typing on the fly.

Its an arena. I think the Memphis basketball team, and the Grizzlies used to play there. Right now I just think its a venue for conventions and concerts.

I tend to like the clean look: DC and Tornto especially, but I am a sucker for Real Salt Lake. I don't know why I like them, but I do.

And is there a way to rate the Red Bulls even lower? Those things are an affront to God.

I disagree Baloo, the Red Bulls white kit looks sharp with the red pants.

The Crew's away jersey is the best

I really hate Seattle's home, but love their away.

I really like the Union's unforms.

Toronto too boring for me.

Y'all like Philly? I think they are the ugliest ones far and away. Watching them play last night was rough, I guess I just don't like gold on a kit.

I thought they looked sharp. I can't name any Euro teams with the navy and true gold color combo.

I realize I'll probably get grilled by this because being in America I'm definitely the minority but....

Does anyone else think it's a bit silly our obsession with mascots? The Galaxy? The Wizards? The Rapids? Why can't they just emphasize the city where the team is from like the majority of the rest of the world? I realize some Euro teams have nicknames or mascots (Ex. "Red Devils" or "Spurs") but they don't make their jerseys look silly by putting them on the front or the crest/badge. I just look at Kansas City and New England and think about how much cooler those jerseys would be without "REVOLUTION" or "WIZARDS" all over the front of them.

I don't necessarily mind the name of the team being the Wizards, but they should remove from the front of the kit. Either go without an add or have the shirt sponsor.

Yeah I think their badge/crest whatever should NEVER have either your mascot or a soccer ball on it. I hate the national team's because we have that stupid soccer ball on it. The whole point of the badge is to be a representation through heraldry (or any type of symbol really) of the club's or team's history.

Just think how much cooler the revolution would be with the coiled snake and stars and bars in the backround as their badge. Or even the national team for that matter. That would make our unis so much better.
