It should be used like the Europa League. Hell, have the winner qualify for the next season's CCL. The top teams from each league already get a shot at each other in CCL. I don't need to see them play again. I want to see how the next group of teams stack up.

Not sure but the last time an owner in a league gave his take on another league (“Pigs get fat-hogs get slaughtered” by Mark Cuban), it didn’t age very well.

MLS Champion just got knocked out the CCL by a team from fricking Honduras. That is not a good look at all.
You still claiming its a league right outside the top 5.....

It already is (for MLS at least, don’t know LigaMX’s plan). The top 4 teams from each conference that aren’t playing in CCL qualify for the Leagues Cup.

The tournament is expanding to 16 teams this season. MLS is using the 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th place finishers from each conference.
Liga MX is using the 2019 Apertura champ, 2020 Clausura champ, 2019-20 Copa MX champ, and the top 5 teams in the aggregate table.
