Baseball games can last upwards of 4 hours

Comments like this are dumb as shite. Any of the major sports can last that long if there's enough overtime. Football can routinely go over 3.5 hours without overtime. The average baseball game is right around 3 hours.

Football games are so long because of the Ads for the games. Ill admit I dont watch much baseball but I would assume the same doesnt hold true for baseball

Baseball has commercials between every half inning and then between pitching changes, so they have plenty as well.

So that makes your argument even worse. If it were a true statement that football had more commercials than baseball and lasted 3.5-4 hours, wouldn't that make it more unbearable? That's saying the games last a long time and there's a lot of time between action because there's so many commercials.

It isn't true anyway because baseball averages at least 20 commercial breaks per game. At least as many as football.

The texas Rangers are he best team in baseball at the moment.

And unfortunately for them Oakland is the second best team in the league at the moment, so they can't move up in the standings.

But they do have more than 500 people show up at home games. Even playing day games in their oven.

This idea that slapping the ball the other way and hitting weak fly balls is better than home runs is a bizarre one that is being pushed by the old guard.

Having to do something that makes you stay present and in a moment without thinking about the future? blasphemy

Your not wrong. Basketball isnt a great comparison though. its on average an hour shorter than a baseball game.

And baseball has a much more suspenseful playoff.

Sabermetrics killed the game. Stealing, bunting, hitting for average, etc. have all been abandoned because statistically speaking, as long as you jack a home run, it doesn't matter if you struck out in your other three at bats. Outrageous shifts may be "smart," but when guys refuse to bunt and are batting .200 because of them, fans stop watching.

Thread isnt about what playoffs is more suspenseful its about the fact that baseball is going to be facing a problem with viewership/attendance sooner rather than later

Seems every month they have a baseball is dying, dead, in trouble article. It is almost as if people want it to fail at times.

No shite.

They play 182 games. Watching a baseball game is pointless.

I just can't do it.

Winning or losing has to matter if I'm going to watch something.
