They would get younger? Not sure either. This would pave the way for Segura to become the Angels 2B of the future.

Shields due 9 million next year, not sure what Zorbist is due next season. Rays have depth in farm system and you can never have enough arms. If they feel they are out of it this season they are doing smart thing and preparing for next season.

It doesn't make sense to me either. It's not really a salary dump as Shields/Zobrist are on reasonable contracts. They've got to be really high on Richards and that other kid.
I think they would fetch more dealing them separately to other contending teams.

You said the same shite about the Nationals before the season started

You're high if you think the 2013 Astros, with virtually no talent at the big league level and no high end prospects above AA, will be like the Nationals.
And I was wrong about the Nats. They're having a nice season. I didn't see their pitching being this good. But to be fare, I was talking about them potentially signing Prince Fielder which they didn't.

The Astros will suck for many years. I'm not saying they will be good.

So what would dumping big money and a long contract into any one player this offseason do for them?
It would be stupid.

Tigers get better today.
Rangers learn they need an arm.

Looks like the Marlins will have a fire sale for the next week.
Red Sox "very interested" in Josh Johnson and had scouts at his start tonight.

Fish "more open than ever" to moving Hanley and "likely" to keep JJ.
Man, Hanley looked like one of the best players in baseball pre 2011. How the mighty have fallen.

Angels get the rotation piece they needed?

5.87 ERA in Triple-A? Uhhh...
Posted on 7/24/12 at 1:26 am to TigersSEC2010
That is in Reno though where offensive numbers are severely inflated.

Enright had promise on 2010, I rode that train to a Fantasy title while it was hot.
