Hand would make sense for Chicago

Cubs would obviously need more for Russell or Baez though.

Yankees trade Headley to Padres. Salary dump. Cashman tGOAT GM again.

Opens the door for Frazier to return at 3B.

#Yankees are getting back outfielder Jabari Blash for Headley/Mitchell. This feels like NYY salary dump, tying Mitchell's upside arm to get #Padres to take all of Headley's $13M pact.

Salary dump prob means we sign Frazier back the club loved him

Weird move unless the Yankees are eating at least half his salary.

Padres paying the entire salary that's why we included Mitchell

Hicks plus some of those NY prospects would be a nice add for a team like Detroit in return for Fulmer

So much upside for Hicks I feel like still

Guess they don't think Robles will be ready to contribute full time this year.

I think more for Clint Frazier. Need to find a way to get him in the lineup.

I think the Yankees would be selling high for Hicks right now.

I don't think we trade any of the core young guys.

Happ or Almora are possible given the right deal, but I don't think Russell, Baez or Schwarber go anywhere.

Hand isn't worth any, IMO.

Well bravo Yankees again.

On the surface, looks like a puzzling move if all it took to shed 13 million was Bryan Mitchell. Cashman is really killing it.

Well yeah Frazier is so much younger. Hicks has always been a premier athlete though and his BB/K are finally coming in line closer to where he was at in the upper minors. If I am a rebuilding club I would prefer Frazier, but definitely wouldn’t mind getting Hicks with plenty of control and the chance he’s a late bloomer

This is the dilemma. The Yankees are in a position to win and win big now, and Hicks is a great fit with his defense and plate approach.

However, I don't think that means you can give up on a guy with a very high ceiling like Frazier. If you don't trade either of them, you're looking at Frazier not seeing much playing time at all.

Sure, Gardner will be gone in 2019, and Frazier could start in the outfield then. However, he's ready to play now. He would have started on 60-70% of teams in the majors this past season. Waiting a whole extra season could be tough on him.

If I’m the Yankees I would trade Hicks over Frazier. You have the prospects to get a good SP without including Frazier IMO

If Frazier struggles with more regular ABs you have Gardner/Ellsbury as a safety net assuming you keep both.

Give them Almora, move Heyward to CF, put Happ in right.

Profit.
