Pretty interesting article on ESPN

The rules should be enforced as they’re written. Pine tar is more of a competitive advantage in a given game than steroids are.

My fastball is about 2250 rpm on average. I know for a fact I can add 400 rpm to it by using pine tar. Look how much better I would be if I didn’t have morals... pic.twitter.com/o62kWkxWAy

A former pitcher quickly endorsed this theory. "Pine tar will give you more spin rate," he texted. "I never took a start without it. I tried many things, but I never had the same success I had with pine tar.

"It's really good in cold weather. The only drawback is that some guys blister up with it. Those are the guys who would use something more lotion-based."

The Mets informed right-hander Matt Harvey on Saturday that he was moving to the bullpen, after which the 29-year-old told Tim Healey of Newsday and other reporters, “On a scale of 1 to 10, obviously I’m at a 10 with being [ticked] off.”

I know the tigers suck but its mean of them to consider their players not major leaguers #mikefiers #nohitter #sorrynotsorry

Yeah it is pretty widespread, like the article states managers don't want to bring attention to it because their own players are using it as well.

The Mariners are so pathetic. They called Erasmo Ramirez up to pitch today and sent Heredia down to the minors instead of cutting Ichiro. They are too scared to cut him. Did they not think this through before signing him?

IDK if I’m more excited about seeing Torres or not having to see Wade any more. Hopefully this gives them that young spark they seemed to have at the start of last season.

Didi is legit playing like a superstar so far this season.

I'm pumped about him and Andujar on the left side, that is the future and why they don't need Manny

They don’t need Machado, but I sure as hell still want him

2B Torres
SS/3B Didi
RF Judge
SS/3B Machado
LF Stanton
C Sanchez
1B Bird
DH Andujar
CF Hicks

That could be very realistic.

I'd be curious what they would do, Andujar would be 3B, I assume Didi would move to OF and put Stanton at DH

Manny is playing great right now. Unfortunately, he is the only one on the O's that is actually playing great right now. Hit 2 HRs today and 5 in the last seven games. I hate to lose Manny but I hope he continues to knock the cover off the ball and hopefully add more value when the O's do trade him.

Can someone tell me wth the point of the challenge limit is if we are just gonna let managers come out after being out of challenges and essentially get another challenge?

I'm all for getting things right but this is a bad way to handle the rule. Allows the arbitrary judgement of the umpires determine whether something is reviewed or not though from what I've seen they almost always review so again, why the limit?
