Ryu might have some competition if he has another game or two like his last two

If Acuña manages to reach the 40-40 plateau, he will be seriously considered for NL MVP regardless of what CB or CY are doing.

Ryu will be on the DL within 19 days.
Look at Bellingers stats since the break and tell me that's MVP numbers.

Nah, not even close...

Acuna 5.2 WAR
Bellinger 8.0
Yelich 6.0

The other two would need to seriously struggle

He’s a distant third, unless one of the other guys get hurt in the next week or so.

Hell, Ketal Marte and Rendon have just as much a claim as Acuna

Which isn't a knock against Acuna, just other players are having fantastic years as well and more deserving

Eyeballs tell a different story. I watch him every night. Will Smith is the Dodgers mvp the second half....and Muncy. Belly, Turner, Seager are all under achieving. Seager has an excuse and he is coming around.

I watch him when the Yankees end, but numbers don't lie here. His BA is lower but OBP and slugging isn't drastically different

7th thru 9th he is garbage. He had a big hit against the Jay's the other night but that was a rarety. He's still good but no where near what I see an MVP being. Like I said, Muncy and Fresh Prince are better in the clutch.

Baseball reference doesn't break it down by inning since the break nor does MLB.com

Only took 4 minutes to kill that ridiculous argument

Of course it doesn't. I would even want to know in close....1 run games.....but he is hitting about 220 after the break so I know he isn't tearing it up late in games.

I mean he is hitting .268/.366/.603

In the second half, so he isn't living up to his season totals but still producing

First half 85 games 54 walks
Second half 35 games 20 walks
