Any 1 and done basketball tournament is a really really stupid way to crown a true champ.

All I'm saying is Auburn and State have/had just as much of a case as St Mary's, Penn State,Minnesota,Michigan,Providence,Arizona and Maryland--some of the media 'darlings'.

Flukes happen all of the time.

Better than most OOC schedules, e.g. UNC OOC was highlighted by Michigan State, UK, and Notre Dame

Those bubble teams should have done more to get into the tournament. Feel no sympathy for them.

This is my stance as well.

Hell, neither team really has a realistic shot of winning, so, who cares which one gets in?

+1

You win your conference tourney, and you're in.

You don't, then you can't complain when you get left out if you were on the bubble and lost big games down the stretch.

People who bitch about the college system don't understand that there is never a clear cut BEST college team. It's all about who's playing best at the right time...SFP and detractors are so caught up on talent and stats that they forget performance under pressure defines a championship team...not figures or ratings.

Just sayin'. Playing a tough schedule is important, but when you lose 5/7 it doesn't help much. Of course with the RPI losing to a good team is better than beating a middle of the road team
