Sorry man, just accept who you are. An uneducated, ignorant bigot who supports an outdated ideology given to him by someone from over 2,000 years ago when slaves and abuse of women were also openly allowed.

Actually, I do support gay rights and equality, but I also don't go spouting off at the mouth calling people bigots and uneducated because they have different opinions and beliefs than me. You are actually being the one who is intolerant.

This is correct. One can not agree with the homosexual lifestyle because they think it is against their religion without being a bigot. But the moment you think they should be treated differently for it or receive fewer rights, it makes you an intolerant bigot. There is no way around that fact

I'm perfectly fine with Sam. What he does doesn't bother me at all.

But shite like this irks me. Being gay in america is nothing like being black in america during Robinson's time.

So not supporting gay marriage makes you an intolerant bigot? I can't get on board with that, and I support gay marriage. You are calling people bigots because they don't agree with you, and that is wrong.

Yep, if you're public about it and actually make an effort to vote against it.

What would them getting married do to you? We're talking about laws here. This country has a separation of church and state. Laws shouldn't care what your religion says.

I do feel like they should have equal rights, couples included however I don't think someone against same sex marriage is a bigot because the definition of marriage has always been 1 man and 1 woman. As far as benifits go, I think they should get whatever a straight couple should get, but I am sure since I think 2 men getting married is a bit of an oxymoron that's all you will take from what I said. It's way too convenient to call someone a bigot these days.

If you do anything in effort to prevent homosexuals from receiving equal rights and laws, you are an intolerant bigot.

And a fricking a-hole.

Pretty much this. People get too wrapped up in it.

"you're on the wrong side of history!"
"intolerant bigot!"
"just because you believe bs from 200 years ago doesn't mean it is true!"
"stupid intolerant southern baptists!"

It has become funny to watch how militant people get about this stuff.

No, that has nothing to do with it. Like i said one can not agree with the lifestyle without being a bigot or intolerant, but the instant that person wants to make a law that keeps a certain group from being treated the same as another group, that seems like clear cut intolerance to me. I dont see how you could call it anything else

The word marriage is the thing you have a problem with them using?

Geez man. This is about laws and rights. None of that has anything to do with religion in this country. How do people not understand this country has a separation of church and state?

thank you.

honestly, the argument people make against it sound eerily similar to pre-integration arguments.

"I don't care they are black and that they go to schools, I just don't want them going to my schools because they've always been that way."

I completely agree when talking about it in the eyes of ones church. If a church doesnt want someone to get married in it, they shouldnt be forced to allow it. Thats BS. I am not one of those people that thinks everyone is a bigot and everyone should be offended, but if one thinks that the government should make laws to keep a certain group down, that is clear cut intolerance.

I agree with this as well.

I don't want to force churches to marry same sex couples. That would be absolute bullshite.

I do however think it is absolutely embarrassing that 34 states in this country don't recognize same sex marriages. They can't get married at city hall. Nothing to do with religion. Just rights.

ETA:

Marriage isn't just a Christian term. Its a civil and legal term as well. They aren't wanted to get married in the Church. They just want to be married by the city/state/country.

OK, what laws and rights did I say they shouldn't have? The right to change the definition of a word?

I said everything you said regarding rights btw.
