Jordan's way of saying: Why is no one respecting Kobe? I mean LeBron wins 2 rings and the Black Mamba is somehow forgotten. I could beat them both. I just want you the public to recognize two things: a) there won't be another Kobe and b) Kobe looks weirdly similar to Tupac. I mean Tupac "dies" in 1996 and then Kobe shows up in 1996? Omg! Aw hell na!

That's his own baggage though. He still talks about being slighted in high school. It's what made him great, and makes him calling out LBJ all the more embarassing. A person of his accomplishments should leave this kind of talk to the fans. He talks as if he thinks we'll all forget about him.
I'm not challenging his assertion. I would just think that entertaining these types of comparisons to someone that doesn't have close to his accomplishments would be beneath him. By acknowledging the comparison, he's acknowledging that LBJ belongs in the comparison.
