MJ says he doesn't have a gambling problem. That's basically never challenged. When he laughed at the idea of Payton containing him, that's never challenged by some of his shooting in Game 4 and 6.
Horace challenged the idea that he wasn't the snitch. Payton challenged the idea that MJ had no problem with him. Jordan's massive checks to known gambling scumbags challenged the idea that he didn't have a problem.
You can argue Jordan got the last word by the nature of the doc and how the order of how it was all presented

Who cares? Wasn’t that 1992?

I agree that it would have been far more blatant if nothing other than Jordan's words were presented, but you sort of hit on it with saying it was structured to give MJ the last word every time.
With the gambling, the Esquinas book and MJ's testimony at Bouler's drug trial are mentioned. Then MJ says he doesn't have a problem and it's over.
With Payton, he says he limited MJ. MJ laughs at him and it's over.
It was just the pattern of the doc. In 86, after the 63 in Boston Garden, MJ went back to Chicago, shot poorly, put up 18 points and got swept. The doc leaves off with the 63. Or in 93, down 2-0 to the Knicks, MJ went 3-18 in Game 3 and Pippen led the Bulls.
I'm not saying the doc should have reversed and had an agenda to show the worst of MJ, just that people are attributing a pro-MJ slant because it essentially always ended each discussion on a pro-MJ note.

He wasn't the only one, though. Pippen didn't like Isiah. Bird didn't like him after Isiah's "if Bird was black, he'd be just another good player" comment. Magic was closest to Isiah, but not enough to stick up for him.
This. It wasn't just MJ that didn't want Isiah there, it was damn near everyone. MJ can say he wasn't the one to keep him off b/c technically speaking he wasn't.

This is a fair take.
I just feel like that's a far cry from fake propaganda.

He said, 'You know what? Chuck [Chuck Daly] doesn’t want Isiah. So, Isiah is not going to be part of the team.'"

Ultimately, I feel like propaganda's a word with different connotations to different people.
I don't feel like it presents a false picture, but I do think you get a picture of MJ that sands down the rough edges. I don't think it would be as noticeable if there weren't others like Pippen who didn't get the lighter treatment.

But aren't you doing the same of which you postulate running with your own "theories"?
The word propaganda has been brought up of few times in this thread, perhaps hyperbole, but this documentary has produced a bizarre kind of worship from ex-peers and an assortment of others discussing their brush with greatness because they once smelled his shite.
Of course his fanboys are eating up every word of it even though Jordan wouldn't give them the time day even after fricking their girlfriends/wives and them courteously disposing of his used condom.
I think it's all hysterical.

I’m an NBA fan for roughly 30 years(By the time I was 7) and have known Michael Jordan was dick by my teenage years.
That’s never changed my personal ranking of him as a basketball player (and I do consider a good teammate, overall because of his work ethic and desire to win)
Would I rather play with Tim Duncan? shite yeah.
Would I rather kick it Steph Curry, Kareem, Walton , Barkley or Shaq? Of course Yes.
One can be a Jordan, Magic, Wilt, LeBron,Dr.J, Kobe, Harden,Zion or whomever fan and not hang on their every word.

Why does everyone hate Isaiah Thomas?

That was the rumor back then. Chuck didn't want his own star on the team.
Who knows if Rod Thorn or Jordan was just saying that.
I mean that's like Pat Riley saying, I don't want Magic on my All-Star team. I can't believe that's true with Chuck. It's just all so weird with Isiah. Who is this guy?
