Man a few years ago people made it seem like they were gonna SMU that program.

Glad no postseason ban. Golden's got these guys playing well.

I really don't get it.

How can the NCAA do what it did to Penn State, and USC, and lightly punish Miami?

And I'm not saying Miami deserved the hammer either.

Weak.

Congrats to the U on surviving it. Could have been much worse.

How does that work? Is it 3 scholarships a year for 3 years or 9 each year for 3 years? Sorry if thats a stupid question.

This is why we should recruit really dirty. The rewards outweigh the risk.

Miami already applied some stuff to themselves, bowl bans etc got rid of some folks close to the program and were cooperative as far as I recall

Goes a long way as it should in reality

9 OVER 3 years, means over a 3 year period they lose 9 total scholarships

Miami has already significantly punished themselves and the ncaa has botched this shite so badly. Good move by the ncaa to not overstep at this point.

I just wasnt sure if 9 over 3 years meant they were short 9 scholarships a year over a three year period. I guess i'm just stupid.

I don't know if I agree. Miami punished itself late in both years when they knew there was no chance go to a big bowl. If they were undefeated one of those years I have a feeling they may not have banned themselves.

To their credit, they learned from OSU and took the extra step of banning themselves a 2nd year. If not for the bowl ban, OSU would likely be defending national champs and sitting pretty at #1 in the polls with no worries in the world

I don't think OSU would've beat Alabama last year.

Honestly the NCAA should have came down on them but they really didn't have a choice. After them fricking up so bad on how they gained alot of their evidence Miami would have definitely had a case to sue the NCAA and get it all overturned if the sanctions were that bad.

I agree, but Alabama wouldn't have sniffed the title game. Fairly or not, would have been OSU/ND
