The Cowboys

far from a Cowboys fan but I remember seeing recently they had 6 of the top 10 highest rated regular season games in 2017. A year in which they went 9-7.

If the media is trying to make them relevant, they are doing a bang up job.

The fact that you have such an issue with rankings is comical.

Why? It's useless information. I learn nothing from it.

The Cowboys are the most valuable franchise in American sports and I think maybe in the world, if not then they’re definitely top 5.

If 13 Jags games were nationally televised and they were the top story on SportsCenter every night, they’d get big ratings too.

I’m sorry, would you rather the networks play teams that NGAF about?

The Cowboys are popular BECAUSE they’re on television. What’s so hard to comprehend about that. Did millions of people just wake up one day and independently say “I like the Cowboys?”

I mean, did anybody care about a soccer team in Thailand two weeks ago?

I never hear anyone, anywhere discussing these topics ever, except to occasionally mock them.

This probably says more about you and who you surround yourself with than it does anything else.

Oh, and Bobby Riggs vs. Billy Jean King

It may have meant something in the 70's and 80's, but once you get into Riggs' reported gambling issues, it definitely questions its legitimacy.

Brady vs Montana;

Wait what? lol i never seen this and joe is nowhere near as good as brady and i have always hated the pats. I think any QB that has ever played in the league could have won a couple of superbowls on that 49ers squad. Hell for awhile Joe wasnt even the best QB on his own team.

if they could get big ratings, they'd be the top story on sports center with games nationally televised

realized the polls really don’t mean shite till November
easy to say this when you're actually in them

When you're not, it used to be a huge disadvantage if you were late in the season fighting for a BCS spot or whatever. You were simply slotted behind other teams and the polls never really fluctuated unless someone lost

The cowboys will always be relevant even without the help of the media.

It’s cute that you think this.

Might be slightly exaggerated, considering we're fighting 40 years of mass media conditioning.

But I guarantee you if the Jags had that, the audience would warm up to and they would be THE topic of conversation in December. Any team for that matter. The 09 Saints got some epic ratings after halfway through the season when the media finally decided they were "worthy."
