Am I wrong, or is this the game Tulane was winning at half 31-7 and won 34-27?

Something like that. I wish I was a fly on the wall at half time because that speach Toledo gave has to go down as the wrost half time speech of all time. Tulane looked good the 1st two weeks against ranked Bama and ECU teams (could easily have won both games), then dominated ULM and the first half of SMU. They come out of that locker room and get BLOWN out not only in that second half but the rest of the SEASON never resembling thier old selves again.

I watched that game on satellite - great first half (and I felt good about the season), then it all changed...(poor defense/QB play, injuries, etc.).
As others have already stated, I believe that the '09 recruiting class and the '09 season will really shape the future of Tulane's football program.

The best and most talent that Tulane has had on the team in the last 15 years or so. Hopefully it will mean WINS on the field.

you guys are putting way too much emphasis on a class and hoping to be successful on the field the year immediately after signing these kids.

You do realize they are only true freshmen? Again, I hope you guys put a load of true freshmen on the field against McNeese. Then I'll be able to laugh even more.

I'm not saying McNeese will beat Tulane but you think you deserve to be on the same field as LSU? Am I missing something here? There is a lot of confidence for a team that won two games last year. ULL fans and Tulane fans have more in common than I thought.

It's obviously a "Who's the Best of the Worst?" discussion, but:

Winning % v. LSU (through '07):
- Tulane...26.7% (88 games)
- La. Tech...0.0% (2 games)
- ULM...0.0% (1 game)
- ULL...0.0% (2 games)

Tulane is also a former SEC charter member (1933-1965).
FYI: Tulane's record while in the SEC was 61-96-13 (39.7%) with 3 SEC Championships.
Better than the following current SEC members:
- Kentucky (1933-2008...31.5%; 2 SEC Champs)
- Miss. State (1933-2008...31.9%; 1 SEC Champ)
- South Carolina (1992-2008...39.3%; 0 SEC Champs)
- Vanderbilt (1933-2008...23.8%; 0 SEC Champs)

Does any LA team 'deserve' to be on the same field as LSU? Probably not.

Unless, you believe that Louisiana benefits from LSU v. Tulane/ULM/ULL/La. Tech/Etc. - which I do.

You can't compare the SEC from that period to now, it has more teams and is stronger. Put Tulane in the SEC now and I don't see them winning a conference game at all.

McNeese had some key injuries towards the end of the season. They were VERY VERY good. IMO, its a 50/50 chance. Im not sure who theyre losing on offense, but if their All-American running back, Dual-threat QB, and play making receivers are back; it'll be a VERY close game.

How recent? And barely beating the SEC's worse teams isn't exactly competing.
