Naw. I mean you can make an argument for anything if you really want to, but you'd be fighting a losing battle.

Why would Denver trade for romo when they could sign Flynn outright?

Beat me too it/.
Matt looked outstanding in the cold weather Sunday - it would be a snap for tropical Denver compared to GB.

Romo is better then Schaub ( best case scenario for Flynn). Why would DAL trade down in talent?
Romo was not drafted. Flynn went in the 7th round. Romo played behind a bunch of aging veterans and had the benefit of those QB's failing massively. Flynn has been behind this year's NFL MVP for four years and just set an all-time record for a single game performance by a Packers QB. Why would you assume it would be a trade down? I understand why there would be reluctance, but for Romo, I think he'd benefit tremendously, especially if he's the talent he's supposed to be. Witness Steve Young, Fran Tarkenton, Brett Farve, Sonny Jurgenson. All were traded and all blossomed into great QB's afterwards. I just don't see Romo as untradeable.

Me too. But I think Schaub is pretty good. And no way in Hades would I rather have Flynn than Romo right now. Flynn is too unproven. I would bring him in and let him compete for the job, but no way would I give him a huge contract and annoint him starter after a couple of good games.

I agree.[see Kevin Kolb]. If I am Matt. I mean I know he wants the chance, BUt why not stay where you are and you get paid big bucks to hold the clipboard and be in a SB contending team every year.

I agree, but unfortunately Jerry Jones isn't leaving.

Agreed. Jones is a meddler. However, with Romo there, he won't go after a quality QB in the draft. Imagine having RGIII on the sidelines. Romo is not going to be pulled. His value would plummet.

This team is far away from needing a rookie QB. Why not accept that you have a guy at QB that can get it done (probably for another 3-4 years) and go after some guys that will truly help your franchise like O-lineman and maybe just 1 or 2 guys in the secondary. OR yeah, we get some unproven guy already in the league like Flynn or draft a rookie high priority and have them shite the bed for half of the next decade while ignoring the actual holes that are in the boat.

Why the fk would the Cowboys draft a QB? Holes all across the dline and secondary. Fairly weak interior oline. Good QB and passing game. Even Jerry Jones isn't that stupid.

Packers wont pay anywhere near big bucks for him. Plus you have a ring already and all that as a backup, its time for him to go out and prove himself. Now if hes smart then hell choose a team that best suits him with Talent and system and will look past the dollar signs.

I really think Seattle and Miami are good places with some good talent that he could be successful. Either go to Miami (especially if they hire a coach that plays a spread system like the Packers) and throw it up to Brandon Marshall for 7 years or go to seattle where the front office is a little more steady and smart that can surround you with good talent/a good defense

Exactly. QB is a strong suit for the team. Romo isn't elite but he's borderline. Secondary and OL help are needed.

The only reason he is not considered elite is a lack of playoff wins. His QB rating is 4th in the league.

The offense is not a problem for the Cowboys and really hasn't been the last few years. The defense is pure garbage right now. Eli fricking Manning shredded this secondary twice in the last month.

Aside from the fact he'll get paid way more to be a starter, he wouldn't be worth a crap if all he ever wanted to be was a back up

The cowboys problems are with their personnel on the D side, not the D coordinator and not with Romo. Their CB 's couldn't cover my 87 year old Granny.

but I think if Ryan ran a defense styled more to his personnel, way less mistakes would have been made this year. True, he didn't have the personnel, but there's a few coaches in the league with just as shitty of players but better results because they can use what they have and make the best of it. Even as shitty as our secondary was this season, the defense still underperformed by a lot.

Flynn maybe has two good games in his Nfl career and now he should be a franchise quarterback.
