where will people park?
Where they did when it was a 80,000 seat stadium.

I'm pretty certain they parked all over the place.
That was before out-sourced parking control officers with stop watches and chalk to mark tires. Make no mistake, they'll be out there EVERY game day/night, they'll be towing, and ticketing all over uptown.
The city will pay overtime to ensure they issue as many tickets, and they won't run out of tickets like they did the night Turchin reopened after Katrina and they nailed most of the cars on the Claiborne Ave. median. Tulane and the city ought to work together to pave the neutral ground on Claiborne Ave. from Jefferson Ave. to Carrollton Ave. like they did on Harrison Avenue. Of course, at that point, South Claiborne Ave. is Highway 90 and three lanes in each direction. But still, it could be a revenue generator on game day for the school, and no freaking tickets.

i went on google earth and measured out the land "footprint" of several other stadiums mentioned as possibel models for Tulane, such as several MLS Stadiums, SMU's Akron's to mention a few. I still dont see how Tulane plans to do it unless they tear down some buildings.
the basic minimum footprint for a 30k seater is going to be 600x600 ft. Tulane's athletic fields sit on a 545 by 445 footprint. if they tore down the willson center they could orient the field perpendicular to what it is now and have a 445 by 670 ft. footprint..however, they also plan on cramming in a basketball and volleyball practice facility somewhere in there.

those spots will be empty 99% of the time and that area would be even more of a clusterfrick to cross than it already is after games. On Harrison, there are too many businesses and too little parking so it makes sense over there.
it is a good idea in hindsight
