26,000 I think. The weather was terrible and Lamar barely brought anyone so it's better than I was expecting.

I would say that is extremely decent.

Big open spot is the band spot. Decent crowd, it'll get better.

Damn good crowd, considering the rain. We did what a team striving to be a highly regarded mid-major should do vs. a weak FCS opponent.

I have no problem with HUD packing it in, running and just getting it over with in the second half.

RCAF's next stadium project should include the press box.

They have plans for a stadium overhaul. They're supposed to release them against Ark State I think. From the pics I've seen, it's supposed to look very nice

Yea they have plans to change that. Whoever designed that stadium did a pretty bad job with the pressbox. Why would anyone sit at the very top of the second deck? You couldn't see half the field with the press box blocking it.

It's needed some TLC for a very long time. I hope you guys get it done.

Did UL Lafayette ever raise private athletic funds prior to the RCAF?

From the pics, looks like your AD could take a lesson from LSU on maximizing stadium advertising.

Not much private funds were raised outside of the Monclas. Uncle Ray didn't much care for athletics and just let his friends have jobs.

With the RCAF, we'll see some good growth.

On a bad note, they started scanning student id's last night. A lot of people were pissed/surprised.

Let's hope they have a good control stucture in place and do not waste the fresh pot of cash on retarted projects. Sometimes people get stupid when the coffers start filling up.

Last year was seemingly the first time the Ragin' Cajuns were the football radar since the days of Brian Mitchell (loved watching those battles in the Superdome vs Mack Brown/Terrance Jones at Tulane.)

Sounds like the program is moving in the right direction and that's a good thing for Louisiana football as an enticement to keep more La. recriuts in-state.

PS-What was that glue-fingered TE's name I wanted the Saints to draft this year? Ladarius Green or something like that? Where'd he end up?

Yea his name is Ladarius Green. He went to the Chargers in the 4th round. He made the 53 man roster but probably wont see much PT this year because he needs to get bigger and work on his blocking

I'll look for them but I don't remember where I saw them. From the sounds of it, they wanted to close in the grassy areas, knock down the existing upper deck and add in a brand new row of suites and a new press box. Maybe a new upperdeck on the student/visitor side. I don't really remember.

The picture I saw looked good though.

Hard to assess how he did because Lamar was inept on offense. Our d line was great, especially Justin Hamilton.

My favorite part of the night was Melvin White destroying a Lamar receiver and the ball popping into Gillis's hands.

I hope Montrel Carter is ok, he and Effrem both look very quick and shifty. Carter looks faster though.

Jamal Robinson running over two guys was pretty funny too. When we have Robinson and Butler on the field at the same time, we have some serious size at the receiver position. Those guys are massive.

What's the word on Carter's injury?
